Thought I'd try something different. Yesterday, I stumbled across the very talented James Popsys (www.flickr.com/people/jamespopsys/) on YouTube (www.youtube.com/@JamesPopsysPhoto). What a brilliant presenter with a fantastic style, knowledge and ability to explain visual concepts. Highly recommended.
After a day of testing new and old Canons with the family (they are lucky!), Junior took this photo with the older Canon EOS70D. It was only ever going to be a series of throwaway images, as the weather was dull and the light flat. But I thought I'd try some of James' Lightroom techniques on the RAW image. James used Lightroom Classic in some of the videos, whereas I'm using Lightroom "CC". I saw that Classic has mask luminance range control, which I hadn't seen in CC, but after some hunting, I found the advanced controls hidden away. They are a game changer!
Thanks, James, for the excellent content. It was nice to try out your style wish is more desaturated, locally diffused and slightly over-exposed compared to what I've been doing. But I love it!
the hubby and I went out to Outback as our first official date night here in Georgia since we've been making our own dinners and saving some cash. we figured one night wouldnt hurt us.

3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines, Regimental Combat Team 7, is deployed with I MEF (FWD) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Al Anbar Province, Iraq (MNF-W) to develop the Iraqi Security Forces, facilitate the development of official rule of law through democratic government reforms, and continues the development of a market based economy centered on Iraqi reconstruction.
