Back from a week in Turkey (photos to follow.....) to find this months Advanced Photographer #Photo24 supplement waiting for me. I've known for a while but now I can now officially announce I won the 'Iconic London' category with a night shot of Tower Bridge. My prize is a very nice Nikon compact camera and a training day at the Nikon School in London.
Looking forward to doing it all again next year.........
Some of the images Taken during the Photo24 Event in London - Shooting from 12:00 noon Friday to 12 noon Saturday.
Last weekend I took part in Advanced Photographer's photo24 event and decided to try and only take street photos the whole day. Taking pictures of flowers and butterflies has become a bit boring and repetitive for me so I decided to try and mix things up.
To prevent myself from sneaking off to Kew Gardens for some floral shots I left my macro lens at home and only took my kit lens. It felt quite liberating not having to think about changing lenses all the time, and just concentrating on what's in front of the camera.
I shot most of my photos including this one from the hip as I could get really close to people without them noticing.

A blend of 2 exposures - one for the moon and one for the London Eye. Still seems to me that the moon has been pasted in! Do I need to improve my blending skills or get a better pair of glasses?

I took part in Photo24 over the weekend of 20 & 21 June. I didn't know what to expect, but really enjoyed the weekend and will certainly take part next year.
This was in Leadenhall Market at night, hand held, coz I was too tired to get the tripod out.

We were awaiting a non existent sunrise and many of us turned to do traffic trails, only there wasn't much traffic about.
