Chuckwalla (Sauromalus ater)

Fun Fact: Unlike snakes, lizards shed their skin in pieces. Looks like a new lizard coming forth from an old suit 😁

Approaching storm...that eventually passed over,

even though it was threatening looking!

Gorgeous sunset (March 21, 2009) in Arizona tonight...reminded me a bit of a crystalline, perfect sunset.

I love it when the Saguaros are in bloom

Fun Fact: The white blossom of the Saguaro Cactus is the Arizona State Flower.

Speckled Rattlesnake - I walked just past this boulder (and fairly close to it) when I noticed the snake at the mouth of the crack. Boy did I jump! It didn't move for the longest time, allowing me to get a few shots of it.

The BNSF PHX105 job (which is nicknamed the sidewinder) makes it way down 11th Ave in Phoenix, AZ with it’s train for the industries all along this spur. This train runs out of BNSF Mobest Yard in Phoenix. Here he is going under Interstate 17 w/ an original BN GP38-2 in charge. I was glad I was able to bag this train on my non-train vacation!

MADE EXPLORE: #18 on Friday, April 3, 2009 Misty day moon...the sky was bright blue . . . amazing how bright it can be during the daylight.

Speckled Rattlesnake - (Crotalus mitchellii)

This Speckled Rattlesnake so closely matched the granite rocks around it, that it had to be pointed out to me before I actually saw the snake. What a beauty!

Out for a drive in Anthem, Az

Nobody is immune to the turbulence that one encounters living life. Remember that surviving the storm means you've lived. Continue the journey down the path of life and know the storm will not last forever.

Photo taken on the nature trail at Mayo Clinic Hospital grounds in Phoenix, AZ.

We flew down the bumpy, dirt road that is the Apache Trail to catch the sunset. We missed it, but fortunately the Roosevelt Dam was waiting for us at the end, beautifully lit up in the still night.

I also forgot my tripod, but was lucky to find a leveled off railing that I rested my camera on. I had to be resourceful!

coming home from Prescott last October. This is Highway?. .not sure...but I am looking back.wards...Phoenix is behind me. Larger view is better. There was an atmosphere of "Hurry, let's miss the storm...hurry!" And of course, duh, me...I am lovin' the approacing storm.

Captured in a seedy area of south Phoenix. Didn’t stick around too long after shooting. This is the same car in the background of one of my recent toy shoots.

Went on a New Years Day photo shoot with my brother and my youngest daughter. We decided on a rural decay shoot and drove around downtown Phoenix. There’s actually a lot to photograph in this city.

Tempe Town Lake leading to the ASU Campus.

This pole was built in 1956. Some of the included more "recent" additions/upgrades are the cutout, transformer (25-35 yrs old?), neutral wire spool, and etc... The brown insulators, Ohio brass two-disk suspensions, crossarm, and wooden brace remain...

Also...

One thing that made me wonder... I'm imagining these are the similar kinds of deadends that used to be a bit common in Danbury, CT before the armless corner (straight insulator chain) poles came (among other areas that had the same conversion)...

Photographed in the Sonoran Preserve at Apache Wash Trailhead near Phoenix, Arizona. The state bird of Arizona loves the Saguaro, which is also the state flower.

The lower tier is a vanilla cake with pineapple filling and the upper one has a raspberry chocolate filling! One of the best cake's I've tasted and surely the most stunning one!

Thought I'd throw this one into the fence friday pool before heading to work.

This is from January when I had been in Phoenix. We walked from the building in which our workshop was held to the cafeteria in the hospital each day for lunch. All these lines and shadows intrigued me.

Take a peek in the larger size to see the little eyelids closed. Tired mommie duck protecting her babies.

I think the sign says "Precision Plastics Ltd" then "Plastic" followed by something illegible.
