I met him at the Bluebird coffeeshop in Amsterdam and he immediately begin to talk to me about the meaning of love and 'god' money in the world and so on...
It has been a brief encounter with a really interesting person who surely is going to remain in my mind for a long time yet.....

Barnett Freedman CBE RDI (19 May 1901 – 4 January 1958) was a British painter, commercial designer, book illustrator, typographer, and lithographer. He undertook a wide range of commissions and work that included a number of book jackets, or dust wrappers, especially for the London publishers of Faber & Faber as well as for other publishing houses. The designs included the main covers, the spine and lettering.
This cover was for Collins and is for Peter Quennell's biography of John Ruskin (1819 - 1900), the Victorian writer and philosopher whose works are now often credited with having anticipated interest in a wide range of subjects such as the environment, arts and crafts. Sir Peter Courtney Quennell CBE (1905 - 1993) was a prolific writer and biographer.
The Pesquet's Parrot is a highly specialised frugivore, feeding almost exclusively on a few species of figs. Flowers and nectar have also been reported. At least in parts of its range, it is seasonally nomadic in response to the availability of fruits. The bare part of the head is presumably an adaption to avoid feather-matting from sticky fruits. Little is known about its breeding habits in the wild, but the two eggs are laid in a nest in a large, hollow tree. It is typically seen in pairs or groups up to 20 individuals. In flight it alternates between rapid flapping and short glides.

Vivekananda Rock Memorial is a sacred monument and popular tourist attraction in Kanyakumari, India. The memorial stands on one of two rocks located about 500 meters off mainland India's southernmost tip. It was built in 1970 by the Vivekananda Rock Memorial Committee in honour of the visit of the great spiritual teacher Swami Vivekananda to Shripada Parai during the month of December 1892 for deep meditation and enlightenment. He swam to this rock and meditated about the past, present and future of India. It is said that he attained enlightenment on the rock, and henceforth became a reformer and philosopher.
From very ancient times, the rock has been regarded as a sacred place. The mythical tradition states that it has been known as 'Sripada Parai', meaning the rock that has been blessed by the touch of ‘the sacred feet’ of the Devi Kumari. On the rock is a projection similar in form to a human foot and a little brownish in complexion, which has traditionally been venerated as a symbol of Shripadam. According to legend, it was on this rock that Devi Kumari performed austerity.
I used the drone to light this old tower built sometime in the 17 hundreds by the 3rd Earl of Shaftesbury. Another great night out with Paul.

The fruit giant dominates the scene after many adventures.
