A piece of theatre history - the Thunder Run, superseded by recorded sound effects many decades ago. To replicate thunder a cannon ball would be dropped into the wooden channel which rolled rapidly down (here right to left) would drop down (extreme left) and then roll more gently back along the lower box. This one survives complete above the stage at Her Majesty's Theatre in the Haymarket, London. Designed by C J Phipps and Romaine Walker in a French C18th style. This is one of the West End's finest theatres, wide with excellent sightlines and supremely elegant. Built as a replacement to earlier theatres on this site since 1705, the current theatre was designed by C J Phipps and opened in April 1897. The building is grade 2* listed and in 1986 the record-breaking run of "The Phantom of the Opera" began. The name reverted to His Majesty's after the coronation of King Charles III in 2023, and it is part of LW Theatres Group.

This is only a portion of the Nethercutt Wurlitzer Theater Pipe Organ at the Nethercutt Collection. Hearing the Phantom of the Opera on a 5,200 pipe theater pipe organ in a large, enclosed room is quite an experience.

The Nethercutt Collection is a museum located in Sylmar, California. Its centerpiece is its automobile collection and is considered one of America's greatest automobile museums. It also features mechanical musical instruments, including orchestrions, player pianos, music boxes, and a 5,200 pipe Wurlitzer theater pipe organ. It was founded in 1972 by J.B. Nethercutt who was the co-founder of Merle Norman Cosmetics. Directly across the street is the Nethercutt Museum. It houses 130 or so antique, vintage, classic, and special interest automobiles. All the cars are operational. Both the Collection and Museum are free. Visiting the Nethercutt Collection is by guided tour only. Reservations are required, which can be made on the Nethercutt website. Tours are only on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. The Nethercutt Museum is open Tuesday - Saturday. Reservations are not needed. See the Nethercutt website for more information: nethercuttcollection.org.

My dear friend had lost his mind over the Enchantment event and his girlfriend was roped in as well. I'm very happy they allowed me to take their pictures for this contest entry. I know no better pair to portray Christine Daaé and Erik.

I wish he'd let me get a picture without the mask. The face underneath is beautifully done.

Lace, lace, lots of lace here too... This is a replica of the wedding dress from "Phantom of the Opera". Lots of different fabrics and textures has been used to create an antique and rich look.

Looking in on the Phantom's Melbourne home.....

For the record, I was playing Music of the Night.

Hihi ^^

I finally got around to buying Operetta and I'm really glad I did ^^ she is very lovely, despite her crazy hair ^^;

Cool euphonium player and shoutout to Mr. Johann Sebastion Bach! But where is Cincinnati's very own Doris Day? She should be near Mr. Redlegs. Oh well, que sera, sera.

"Erik!" I said firmly, "show me your face. Don't be afraid. I swear that you are the most unhappy, the most sublime of men and if from this day forward Christine Daaé trembles when she looks at you, it will be because she is thinking of the wonder of your genius!"

Le Fantôme de l'Opera, Chapter 13

I caught my dear friend and managed to convince him to get an unmasked photo. And I couldn't exclude his lovely girlfriend. I think I might make a valid series of these off the novel. Only time will tell.

Description in English and Dutch:

After taking the original photo of the statue with the stand, I had started to edit it and at some point with cropping, rotation and composing I thought it would be fun to give it an artistic mysterious look. To strengthen this, I made the stone mask full screen which ultimately led to this result. I hope you like it. The original photo shows the entire sculpture with part of the surroundings. I'll upload it next here with the story behind it.
