"Newcastle Station" by Peter Burns

Another from our recent visit to the capital.

Jane and I had a fantastic day photographing all our friends and family at little Maise's Christening.

Grace - as usual :-) provided us with some lovely images.

Southwold, Suffolk, England.

Another from our first caming trip of the season.

Southwold, Suffolk, England.

Lighting : A Canon 430EX (II) Speedlite was diffused by way of a Lastolite softbox and handheld to Chloe's left side.

Thanks to those who felt this image deserved to be included on today's Explore ( whoever you are :-) and to all of you who took the time to have a look and express your lovely comments / fave. As always it's greatly appreciated :-)

There will be more to follow from this shoot.

Lighting : two 430s were left bare and positioned to Natalie's front left and right. A third was hand held by her boyfriend Andrew mounted inside an Ezybox. I think Andrew was standing facing Natalie, but I can't be sure. A STE2 was used to trigger the speedlites.

Exploring The Woods.

We made the most of all the beautiful locations Dubai had to offer during our latest visit. As well as views of the city we kept our hand in with some portrait shoots as well :-)

Lighting - the stairs had lights fitted on each side. Additional lighting for a little contrast was then supplied to Manel's right side by way of a Lastolite Beautybox with a Canon 430EX speedlite fitted :-)

The West Pier, Brighton, England.

A very impromptu photo opportunity taken during the mayhem which we have come to expect on the day we now refer to as Black Friday.

Meet Lulu. I wasn't allowed to hold her at the time of taking this ( Still too young ) but I hope I've managed to capture just a tiny bit of her natural cuteness :-)

Jane and I had a great time doing this shoot. It was unplanned, involved a wonderful family and the images are ones we're very pleased with :-)

Lighting : a single 430 speedlite, gelled witha 1/4 CTO, inside an 60 inch Ezybox held high and to the families front right hand side.

Lighting : I positioned two light stands to the right hand side of Rebecca with two Canon speedlites fitted. Diffusion was provided by way of two Lastolite soft boxes.

Clearing some space on the computer and found this one of Vicky which I quite liked.

Lighting : Vicky's husband held an Ezybox fitted with a 430EX speedlite and 1/4 CTO directly above. A bare 430 was also positioned near to where I was located, but I can't sure if it triggered.

Lighting : We used a Canon 430EX speedlite fitted inside the Orbis Ring Flash.

Captured at the Birmingham NEC Focus on Imaging 2013 event.

Damien Lovegrove was responsible for the continuous lighting set up and his beautiful model was Stina Sanders.

Expect to see more from this shoot.

Lighting : The key light was a soft box fitted with a Canon 430 speedlite on each of the above. The inside capture also had another 430 fitted with a Honl grid acting as a fill.

Another from a recent shoot with our friend Katie :-)

Lighting : softbox on a boom to the front left hand side.

I wanted to try and capture this iconic building in some way different from the norm. This image presented itself when I noticed its reflection in a puddle. The Autumn foilage from the surrounding trees was just the icing on the cake :-)

London, England, United Kingdom

Rebecca joined me for a walk through the orchards today. Although freezing we still managed to take the occasional photograph :-)

Lighting : I placed a light stand on each side of Rebecca. The right was fitted with a shoot through umbrella diffusing a 430. The left had another 430, but I left this one bare.

Every time I re-visit this photo shoot I find another that becomes my favourite.

For this capture we were under the cover of the tree canopy.

Lighting - a bare 430 speedlite on a stand mimicking the sun to the rear of Rebecca. Another was positioned to the front and diffused by a shoot through brolly.

Taken during a three minute portfolio boaster shoot arranged by the GPP Team.

Dubai, UAE.

My favourite image from my latest visit to the Essex Police Mounted Unit stables.

Many thanks once again to all the staff who make the visits so pleasurable :-)

Lighting - I had a softbox positioned to the right of Rachel and Toffee fitted with a Canon 430Ex speedlite. Another was fitted with a Honl honeycomb grid and to their right hand side slightly further back. Both were activated by the Canon STE2 transmitter.

Jane and I stumbled upon a photo shoot taking place at this year's Winter Wonderland.

Everyone was very friendly and the models had no problem when asked to pose for a few frames in between shooting :-)

Lighting : A combi-boom fitted with an Ezybox and 430 speedlite (fitted with a 1/4 CTO gel) was positioned to Natalie and Andrew's right hand side. Two more 430s were mounted and left bare on light stands, one being positioned almost in front of them and the other slightly off to their left.

Yesterday Jane and I visited the seaside town of Aldeburgh, which is located in the county of Suffolk, England. It's a beautiful location and whether your visit is simply for a stroll, to eat the delicious fish and chips or take some photos ( or all three in our case ) its well worth the journey.

This was meant to be a shot of the boats, however, Jane decided otherwise and walked into frame. We are both pleased with the result, though :-)

Lighting : A 430 gelled and gridded to Jane's right. Another 430 was to Jane's left, but this time higher and left bare.

It's been too long since we last done a shoot with Rebecca, so with all this beautiful spring weather we are experiencing at the moment I thought I'd put matters right :-)

Lighting : Rebecca stood inside Severity's very dark stable. I placed a light stand directly behind her and fitted a Canon 430EX speedlite. I then added a Lastolite Strobo Gobo which acted as a rim / provided some internal illumination.

I then mounted another 430 on a light stand and positioned it in front of Rebecca's right hand side. A transluscent umbrella with the black cover fitted then assisted in providing the sun kissed look we were trying to achieve.

Another from our recent day trip to the seaside.

Aldeburgh, Suffolk, England.

Ligthing : two 430's mounted on light stands. The one facing the boat was fitted with a 1/4 CTO warming gel and diffused by way of a Honl honeycomb grid. The other was left bare and aimed at the shingle in front of the first boat.

Southwold, Suffolk, England.

A little overbooked, but I still like it :-)

This is when I wish we owned bigger lenses :-)

Lighting

A gridded Westcott Apollo was positioned in front of Tanya to her right hand side lit with a Canon 580EX (11) Another was fitted with a HONL grid and aimed at the background and to complete the blown out look another was positioned to act as a rim light. I added the bokeh ( some fairy lights) later in Photoshop.

A very impromptu shot of Chloe taken on a very windy and chilly afternoon as we made our way along the Embankment.

Lighting : A Canon 580(ii) speedlite diffused by way of a Lastolite softbox

I think the combination of a new lens and watching too many Christmas adverts may have had an influence in this capture :-)
