Market in the Sacred Valley

Inca Manco gathered a massive army here and stood down the Spanish Conquerers, sending Spaniard general Pizzaro and his Conquistadors retreating. Eventually, the Spanish returned with more soldiers and took the fortress.

If I remember correctly, there's 3000 varieties of potatoes in Peru, the birthplace of the potato. I'm eternally grateful for the their discovery! This shot is cropped. There was a woman in the top of the picture that was too distracting for me.

My wife is such a good sport. Our 2nd day at high altitude. We felt better today than yesterday but we still took it slow.

An engineering feat if I've ever seen one. Stones are granite.
