Perth Zoo's male sun bear Jamran having a training session with one of the keepers behind the scenes. The bear responds to sounds and hand movements to show different parts of his body, very useful for when he needs to be treated by the vet.
Free the Bears Fund's CEO Matt Hunt is looking on with another Perth zookeeper.
Along with female cub Bopha, Jamran was originally rescued by Free the Bears Fund after they had been stolen from the wild. They were nursed back to health at the FTB sanctuary in Cambodia before being transferred to Perth Zoo in 2007.
Jamran and Bopha are the parents of Maly, the first sun bear cub to be born in captivity in Australia (in 2008). Maly is now at Alma Park Zoo in Brisbane, Queensland.
