Couldn't quite believe this shot when I got home, it looks like I have just cut and paste the Carrion Crow on top of the juvenile Female Marsh Harrier. She looks pretty surprised too. A huge crop unfortunately as they were quite distant.

They are flying just a few inches apart - as the crow is trying to chase the harrier from what it sees as crow territory - a bit like West Side Story but set in a Norfolk reed bed.

They both like to use a prominent bush in the middle of the fen as a perching point.

I am sure Matt Hancock would have something to say about this type of behaviour!

to the rescue.

20th December 2015

Hi everyone. This year I'm participating in a Flickr Photo Advent Calendar, organised by the wonderful Eva. Thirty one days in December, thirty one photographers and therefore, thirty one photographs. We have a group here on flickr, to ensure you guys can follow along.

This year has been very bittersweet. I've experienced one of the biggest (if not the biggest) photographic opportunity of my life (details about that will be released next year), I've finished university and have shot with some artists I've admired for years. But, behind the scenes I've been dealing with an incredible hardship in my personal life - something I am still coming to terms with and probably will be coming to terms with for the rest of my life. Please hug your loved ones this Christmas and be present. Be in the moment and treasure the ones you're surrounded by. I'll see you all next year and thank you all again for your amazing support. I'm really proud of what I've created this year and look forward to what's next.

Retro and Perspective = RetroSpective

I'm going through a bit of a "why do photos need to be rectangular?" stage at the moment :)

I was just playing around with the words "Retro", "Perspective" and "Retrospective" and thought it'd be fun to do an angled perspective composition with a retrospective of some of my (according to Flickr's black magic algorithm) "most interesting" photographs and then treat this like a photograph. :). Probably the only time I'm ever going to see any of my photos hanging on a wall LOL :).

I am always sad about old works. i love them so much

This old barn is no longer of any use to a present day farmer but for an old man living his days out in an assisted living facility the barn is erect, full of animals and the pride of his personal remembrances.
