This was taken in Dayton, Ohio at Wegerzyn Gardens with my 135mm lens + 20mm Extension tube. This is on the front cover of next years calendar 2017 that my Sister makes of Chubby's flower pictures for the last six years called Up Close & Personal which she gives out as a present at Christmas time to her friends. Better view in light box. Click on image for 100% detail on organs.
As always thank you for your lovely comments.
The cows may be the only ones who truly appreciate the return of the Starlings. This one is for the Smile on Saturday group whose theme is “ animal face”.

We can only survive on this planet if we work WITH nature,
not against it ... !

This is one of the seven Pink-eared Ducklings with a parent. The other six were foraging close by under the suprvison of the other adult. It's lovely to see them grow so healthy.

"Heure hindoue, rentrer tard
Over the rainbow
Over the rainbow
Etienne Daho - "Heures Indoues"
II know I spend far too much time trying to photograph blue jays. I find it a personal affront that they seek to do their best to hide behind the first layer of foliage when they fly away so you can't get their photo.
So, it was with great glee that I tracked this one into a tree where he thought he was invisible but he did not take into account the angle I had on him which gave me a tunnel through the leaves to where he was sitting.
By the way, did you spot the moth that he has captured?
Prayers inside the small Lamaria church in Ushguli. It's not recorded when it came into existence. But it's estimated from the way it's built that it is from the 9th or 10th century. Got to love these paintings.
I am almost ready to post African birds! This is a teaser:
