Toronto has traditionally been a peripheral city in the architectural world, embracing the styles and ideas developed in Europe and the United States with only limited local variation. However, many of the world's most prominent architects have done work in Toronto, including Toronto native Frank Gehry, Daniel Libeskind, Norman Foster, Will Alsop, I. M. Pei, and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. A few unique styles of architecture have also developed in Toronto, such as the bay and gable house and The Annex style house.

RealRoom(s)
Peripheral Architecture for the Nestlé World Headquarters
fabric | ch, 2005
RealRoom(s) is a project for the Nestlé World Headquarters. It pinpoints the interferences between local and global situations, fiction and reality, temporality and artificiality in contemporary space.
Rather like slow satellites rotating every 24 hours around the Earth at ground level, collecting and transmitting information, RealRoom(s) reproduces a "terrestrial spatiality", with its extremes, its deserts, its seas, its poles, its cities, its days and its nights, its passing time. It is a vibrant, perceptible and new spatiality, at the same time present and distant, built up by information collected in reality, which is created in samples of variable architecture in the artificial spaces of the Nestlé World Headquarters.

Use vignetting in a photograph today. Either add it in post (easier) or do it in camera via lens or lighting (harder).

A defunct hard drive, I've deliberately sabotaged the connectors to prevent it ever being used again.
Had great trouble getting my macro setting to focus on the correct pins, this was the best effort. Don't know what the speckles are in the shot, dust in the light maybe?

Yes, I bought one. Using it as I write this. I didn't think the short cord would be a problem when I read about it, but I didn't realize just HOW short it was. 27 inches isn't going to cut it... I'm using an extension, which is kind of a lame solution. :P
