My second modem. Practical Peripherals (who later made some really cool LCD-screened modems) certainly liked to emblazon their logo on everything, even including the DE-9 to mini-DIN-8 adapter. I used this one until I got my PowerBook 540 in 1994. The PowerBook came with a Global Village 19.2K V.32terbo internal modem; non-US models came with 14.4K Apple Express Modems for some weird reason. (Both modems were partially implemented in software.)
I recall downloading NetBSD (or maybe MacBSD at the time?) installation tarballs to my SE/30 with this modem, which took more than a day. Hooray for the unlimited Netcom shell account.
First modem was an Novation Apple-CAT II, which I (as of 2025) still have.

The little bunches of flowers on the end are not too tricky - one bunch of orchids, two lilies and a sprig of foliage. Only one of them has two sprays of foliage, because I managed to completely shatter one of the lilies! Note to self: do this step when less tired next time.
