One of the advantages of living in a heavily polluted city is that you can shoot the sun and fear no damage as a result.

Una de las ventajas de vivir en una ciudad muy contaminada es que puedes dispararle directamente al sol sin temer nada.

"Explored" on 2.18.19, THANK YOU!

Shot bracketed. I like the angle of this one.

I shot this for a brief of "Maps". I drew the map on an old piece of canvas and filled it in using a variety of spices I found in the kitchen cupboard. I discovered I have very shaky hands, very limited patience and I breathe and cough a lot. Australia was particularly hard on the nose. But happily my house now smells lovely! :-)

We had a going away lunch for a coworker today and I took my camera along.

“Do you see a person wise in their own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for them” (Proverbs 26:12). God hates pride. How do we explain God’s abhorrence of the haughty heart? Simple. God resists the proud because the proud resist God. Arrogance will not admit to sin. The heart of pride never confesses, never repents, never asks for forgiveness. Pride is the hidden reef that shipwrecks the soul.

Pride comes at a high price. Don’t pay it. Choose instead to stand on the offer of grace. “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble” (1 Peter 5:5). Isn’t it easy to see why? Humility is happy to do what pride will not. The humble heart is quick to acknowledge the need for God, eager to confess sin, willing to kneel before heaven’s mighty hand. And because God’s promises are unbreakable, our hope is unshakable!

Unshakable Hope. Max Lucado

My Lady friend and I shared a whole chicken platter .

The “whole chicken” had been cut into four pieces , ( two each ) . Plus two portions of chips , plain for Julie and Peri peri flavoured for me . The corn on the cob was mine , and the coleslaw , was Julie’s along with Her customary drink of Diet Pepsi Max . My drink is out of shot .

Grill Zill Peri Peri and Kebab at 668 Fishponds Road, Bristol, BS16 3HJ.

Chicken Valley, 232 Uxbridge Roadd, Shepherd's Bush, London, England. A takeaway chicken restaurant, also featuring Peri Peri and pizza.

My Lady friend and I visited our local Nando’s Restaurant for a meal on the evening 25th-August-2022.

Their portions are not huge , but what you get is always tasty .

My choice was a chicken breast ( butterflied ) served with chips , plus we share a large bowl of coleslaw between us . The chips were dusted with a Peri- Peri flavouring .

Also the “soft drinks” have an unlimited refill option too .

The chili pepper (also chile pepper or chilli pepper, from Nahuatl is the fruit of plants from the genus Capsicum, members of the nightshade family, Solanaceae. In Britain, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan, India, and other Asian countries, it is usually known simply as the chilli.

The substances that give chili peppers their intensity when ingested or applied topically are capsaicin and several related chemicals, collectively called capsaicinoids.

Chili peppers originated in the Americas. After the Columbian Exchange, many cultivars of chili pepper spread across the world, used in both food and medicine. Chilies were brought to Asia by Portuguese navigators during the 16th century.

India is the world's biggest producer, consumer and exporter of chili peppers. Guntur in the South Indian state of Andhra Pradesh produces 30% of all the chilies produced in India. Andhra Pradesh as a whole contributes 75% of India's chili exports.

A wet Bank Holiday Monday meant an indoor Fosters Beer Can Chicken was needed.

1. Cut the top off a tin of Fosters - and drink 100ml of contents. DO NOT OMIT THIS STEP

2. Smother chicken in Piri Piri sauce and put herb butter under the skin. Sit the chicken upright firmly on the tin of Fosters - place the tin where the sun don't shine

3. Cook for 90 mins at 200 deg C

4. Remove empty tin of Fosters - slice and eat. The chicken will be golden brown, crispy skinned, moist, tender and very tasty.

Chicken Bite. 414 High Road, Tottenham, London N17.

What's this about?

Failing to resist bad puns, the Guardian newspaper reported a European "Obesity Crisis" "of enormous proportions".

"Projections by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and UK-based researchers lay bare a problem “of enormous proportions” facing many countries over the next decade and a half."

"Europe’s growing obesity crisis will see almost three-quarters of men and two-thirds of women in the UK being overweight in 15 years, health experts have said."

Fast food cafés and takeaways are a highly visible feature of poorer areas such as Tottenham. Which makes it easy to see them as a significant causal factor. And for them and their customers to become a target for blame.

But one it's also struck me that many other places, including better-off areas, have their own versions hard and soft sell invitations to unhealthy eating.

Project 365, #313 - 6th Jan 2013

Day #313/365(6) of my photo diary…one day at a time :)

If I had to give one piece of advice to anyone attempting 365, then it would be to plan ahead, research and write down ideas. I don’t think I would have survived all this time without having clear topics to concentrate on.

Frequently the photo’s will come naturally, but at some point you will find that you are lacking in the creative department or just not enthusiastic about the whole thing, and this is where themes or topics can be crucial.

For me, the Our Daily Challenge group on Flickr is key. It provides an outlet for my creativity but within a set boundary - I love it! About as much as I love Nando’s chicken ;)

Gindungu means peri-peri, piri-piri or malagueta. This pepper is used to season many regional dishes. I took this one in a restaurant in Luanda with a cellphone.

Enjoy it but take care!

A wonderful steak prepared recently by my mother was one of the best I have ever had. It was a salsa sauced steak and therefore very spicy and extremely tasty. Green peas are a must along with HP original sauce with mustard sauce and french fries. I also tried this steak with baked potatoes with cream topping. And again the results were outstanding. Onions were profusely available but to avoid pungent smell they were cooked red. The meat was undercut came from Macro superstore, Karachi. Again, it was my mother who shopped for all the ingredients. She is an expert at food cooking. She always has been.

Chef Stout says, "Game meat is real meat!"

Shot taken in the middle of a brick barbeque pit. Surrounding me are "meat skewered on Maasai swords and cooked over coals." Feasted on some BBQ crocodile, gemsbok, impala, kudu, venison sausages and meatballs, leg of lamb, pork sausages, chicken wings, chicken liver peri-peri style and rump steak of beef. All served on hot cast-iron plates and served churrascaria style (specifically Brazilian cooking style, churrasco).

The restaurant is called Carnivore and is located on the outskirts of Johannesburg, South Africa.
