(A) Note that the brow of the instrument panel protrudes only a few inches above the dash which maximizes visibility. (B) The chartplotter/nav screen is in front of the navigator. (C) There is a built-in foot rest for both skipper and companion. (D) The bow thruster is to the left so the driver can handle the throttles and thruster at the same time. (E) The joystick is in the proper position next to the throttle and gears. (F) The throttle and gears are digital, insuring accurate and precise control. The MC5 galley is aft by the three-part stainless steel and glass doors to the aft deck. To the left is a two-burner ceramic stove top with oven under. To the right is the stainless steel sink under the Corian countertop insert. The refrigerator and freezer are behind wood doors to starboard. Galley counter space is limited, but is helped somewhat by a counter on the starboard side that can be used in a pinch.

In a few day I'll get a Dynojet Powercommander III USB for my Ducati Monster. I bought a Quat-D ExBox exhaust a few months ago and now I have to tune the performance of my ride. The tuning will probably expand the hp about +10... Can't wait for that!!

The 72 MY's deck layout isn't just about stowage: There's ample living space on the flying bridge, with its teak decks (standard on U.S. boats), a large U-lounge and table and alfresco galley with a Lava electric grill, refrigerator and wet bar. The helm station has side-by-side seating. We like stowing the tender up here, leaving the aft platform unencumbered.

The 72 MY's flying bridge is equipped with a wet bar, refrigerator and grill. There's room for a RIB aft, with a Marquipt davit for handling it; if you prefer, replace both with another lounge. On the foredeck you'll find a sunpad and cozy lounge – but what's with the unusual cabin up there?

Beneteau calls its extremely narrow bow sections with high deadrise the "wave splitter." It was conceived to slice through waves in "all sea conditions." Its flare is pronounced to throw spray to the sides. Note the open bow pulpit for bow-in mooring in Europe.
