The young bird on the left is just finishing up its workout exercise on the balance beam and is about to dismount. I don't think the sibling gives a hoot, or it might be muttering to the other that its performance was less than impressive. Or maybe it really is offering words of encouragement. It did not, however, take part in the exercise. Did I mention it's a vertical drop from the cliff to the Pacific Ocean, pretty much straight down...
Comments gonna be real short for a couple of days - had an accident in the kitchen that, well, kinda took out my left hand. Less than dramatic.

One of the two recently fledged Peregrine Falcon chicks was sitting on the structure of the lift bridge and chirping away when the adult female showed up with a recent kill (previous photo). The chick hasn't mastered the aerial transfer of food and thus the transfer of food happened on a solid structure so that the chick doesn't drop it. The mother Falcon made sure that the transfer happened without any incident. Burlington, Ontario.

He caught a ride from Juneau Alaska to Kushiro Japan. He helped clean up all the birds that dropped :-(( He became the ships mascot.
The Peregrine Falcons have been having a lot of success catching dinner. In this pic, they have caught a racing pigeon. Guess it didn't win this race :)

After being disturbed by some cattle the Falcon picked up the Pigeon meal and shot up into the air. The half eaten carcass exposed the inners of the Rock Pigeon entirely and made for an excellent shot! He flew for another half a mile where he consumed the prey in entirety.
Many thanks in advance for your views/ comments. Much appreciated!
