Was out at Jackson Bottom a few weeks ago, and got some nice shots of this perched Savannah Sparrow.

This big old river redgum tree was a favourite perch for this kookaburra to survey its patch of ground on the banks of the Murray River at Gol Gol, New South Wales.

This was my last capture of the eagles today before I left the Susquehanna River in Maryland. This eagle pulled the fish from the river and then came right over my head where I was standing along the rocks at the river edge. A good way to end the 6 hours spent watching and photographing the eagles fishing and chasing each other about.

Great Egret perched above the water's edge, caught in late afternoon sun.

Perch Rock Lighthouse, New Brighton.

Early start for sunrise at New Brighton. Some nice cloud over the Mersey and towards Liverpool but as usual I got drawn to the lighthouse.

A retreating tide and dappled sky gave some nice conditions for a long exposure.

First 1 to 1 today and also a first visit to Wales for longer than I care to remember. Nervous as hell but fortunately it's a friend who wants to get out of Auto. I think I can stretch to explaining the exposure triangle, anything else I’ll be directing her elsewhere😂

I really like the pose of this bird and also the way only one of its claws are raised on the brach, it looks really intrigued : )

This female bushtit landed in such a nice location for this shot.

The Common Gallinule (Gallinula chloropus) measures 13 inches (33 cm) from beak-tip to tail-tip. Though I feel it is a little-appreciated bird, it is quite beautiful. This fine specimen was found at Circle B Bar Reserve, a wetland reserve near Lakeland, Florida.

Fort Perch Rock is a coastal defence battery built between 1825 and 1829, with the foundation stone being laid in 1826. It was built to protect the Port of Liverpool . Wirral aug 2016

A handsome male Prairie warbler perched on a lichen branch giving the photographer a lookback pose. The intense yellow on these birds is quite stunning and beautiful. Spring and warbler migration is now in full swing in the Mid-Atlantic states. Please view large for best experience.

Green Cay Wetlands

Spotted driving on Skalkaho Pass.

Northern Hawk Owl on the highest perch allows him to see what's around him. It also gives a clear and unobstructed view of the owl itself.

I walked by Beaverton Creek today, and found this tree being hit by both the cedar waxwings and the American robins. Had several opportunities in the colorful surroundings.

Great Egret (Ardea alba). Resoft County Park, Alvin, Texas.

I'm always amazed by the resilience of these gulls. Whether it's the melting heat of summer or the frigid cold of mid-winter, they just survive and keep thriving.

Most of these are the common Ring-billed Gulls, I believe.

A scarlet skimmer (crocothemis servilia) dragonfly perched atop a thin twiglet. Photographed near Ao Nang, Krabi Province, Thailand.

I am always amazed at how dainty dragonflies can be

Happy Fence Friday.

Golden-headed Cisticola (Cisticola exilis)

Finally the Cisticolas are starting to show themselves around the Sneydes Rd. Paddock, albeit well in to the paddock. I got as close as I could without ending up knee deep in the muddy water.

Wandering Percher (Diplacodes bipunctata)

I spotted this Dragonfly on the Vic Uni Pond. There are so many Dragon/Damselfies around the pond at the moment.

I am way behind so will catch up later this afternoon/evening.

I'm as busy as ever, but will catch up when I can.

A western bluebird perched at the Pickleweed Inlet.

Male Twelve-spotted Skimmer dragonfly at rest.

Common and abundant.

A Curve-billed Thrasher perched on a Saguaro cactus either: a) avoids the sharp barbs or b) ignores the pain or c) deflects the needles with its feathered exterior. Whichever it is (c?), it is indeed a prickly perch.

A short-eared owl perched and looking skyward for potential "perch stealers". It was fun to watch yesterday as the owls were almost playing with one another, taking turns knocking each other off of their perches. They were also vocalizing quite a bit with their trademark barks and screams.

Thanks for Stopping By ~!

Sunrise is too early at the moment for me but I did manage one early start during the week.
