A number of dragonflies were on the wing over the surface of the lake; after an hour or so of observation I found a small area of reeds where one of the dragonflies was returning to frequently. Due to the thickness of the reeds a clear shot was proving difficult, perceverance provided the opportunity, a nice Four-spotted Chaser.

The centenary of Eastleigh Works was celebrated over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend of 2009. It was an instant sellout, and looking back I am surprised by the lack of people in this shot, taken on the last day, 24th May, because the place was heaving! This is the Erecting Shop, and I recall the area was cordoned off. On the left is EWS Class 37/4 No. 37422 'Cardiff Canton', while GBRf Class 73/1 No. 73136 'Perceverance' is positioned on the middle road. Today we got to explore what was once a beautiful home and somebodys pride and joy, now neglected, unloved, decaying beyond belief, and stripped of everything, even the plaster on the walls.....a fun explore, and my first real urbex since ive been back in UK....so thankyou Mr S for your detective skills, and perceverance in finding the place.....MORE please :-P

One of my favorites from an epic day of 'cross. This is a huge race in a fairly non-descript farm field. Throw in some man-made obstacles and some mud and you got yourself a Belgian Cyclocross race of epic proportions.

In Bulgaria we celebrate the 1-st of march by wearing "martenitsa" - made of red and white thread. This tradition dates many centuries back and symbolizes hope, perceverance, health, faith ....
