In the allegory "The Cave", Plato describes a group of people who have lived chained to the wall of a cave all their lives, facing a blank wall. A great Horned Owl sits out taking in the sun and of course looking for food! Even though we perceive owls to hunt at night - many still take opportunity during the day as well.
Too many people make the Spiritual mistake of considering "light" as truth and assume the being as the wholeness of all things, yet even basic esotericism will anoint this aspect of illusion that, light is a lie and the truth is the vibration as the to the level of one's own comprehension of perception.

Once you gain this knowledge, the universe is of what one can perceive, beyond the five sense realm of physical reality, hence how we alone can decide reality for ourselves. Humanity is becoming slowly more spiritual, I alone along this canal where I took this photo have experienced Shadow People, Ghosts and a momentary time slip, which I theorise to being an experience of reality encoding via perception's ability assorting itself, for another words, what keeps us imprisoned is slowly and thankfully losing its grip, if only to allow yourself to see it!

To improve our talent we tend to play with stronger contenders. Such is the case with my homage to Andre Kertész "the fork" 1928.
Emulating his 'Neues sehen' style I utilized his lighting and 40 degree angle paying attention to light/dark balance and contrast edge.
It is not the forks that are the decisive, but the manner they are perceived by the viewer; 'mode de perception'.

That partial quote describing Chaos Theory reminds me of how I perceive the generally frenzied takeoff of the starlings and mixed flocks that I've been able to watch out in the countryside in the moments where they are alerted to danger and instantaneously flee the location and self organize.
In this instance, the explosion out of water and seemingly chaotic flight all seemed to right itself in a matter of moments and they made their way back to the pond and continued bathing.

The cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta also referred to as the cathedral Santo Nicola Pellegrino who was a fool for God as they said in the times of the Norman’s it is made of a local Trani quarried limestone tufa that has a faded characteristic pink glow that can be perceived in the right light.
The construction started in 1099 and was built on top of one of the oldest places of worship in Trani a 4th century chapel, the bell tower was a later addition and was erected between 1230-39 what really makes this cathedral unique is its two different facades depending if you look at it from the sea or the city.
This is my last shot of Trani for this series but it will not by my last visit, I enjoyed every minute there and loved the feel of the city while wandering the narrow streets there are many great places to eat fresh seafood and drink fine wine with locals who will make you feel at home in their city.

El Þingvellir fue declarado parque nacional en 1928 debido a su importancia histórica, así como por su especiales características tectónicas y volcánicas.
La deriva continental puede ser observada claramente en este lugar, visible en las fallas que atraviesan la región. La más grande de todas ellas, Almannagjá, forma un cañón de considerables proporciones. Esta es la causa de los habituales terremotos que se perciben en esta zona.
El Parque Nacional de Thingvellir es un lugar muy especial para la historia de Islandia y también para su geografía: en él está la fisura de Silfra, donde se separan las placas tectónicas de Norteamérica y Eurasia.

The Þingvellir was declared a national park in 1928 due to its historical importance, as well as its special tectonic and volcanic characteristics.
The continental drift can be clearly observed in this place, visible in the faults that cross the region. The largest of them all, Almannagjá, forms a canyon of considerable proportions. This is the cause of the usual earthquakes that are perceived in this area.
Thingvellir National Park is a very special place for the history of Iceland and also for its geography: in it is the Silfra fissure, where the tectonic plates of North America and Eurasia separate.
It was there that around 930 AD The Alþingi, the world's first parliament, was founded, it was also there that Iceland adopted Christianity in the year 1000 and it was also in Thingvellir, or þingvellir as they say in Icelandic, that the Republic of Iceland was born on June 17, 1944.

Indigo buntings are the best magicians in the bird world here in Winneshiek County. Believe it or not, but this guy's feathers are black! Yesterday I posted an indigo bunting sitting in the shade and its blue color was a very deep and rich indigo. Today's bird is sitting in the bright sun and the blue is a totally different turquoise hue. Their feathers have unique microscopic structures that refract and reflect any available light so that we can perceive only the blue waves with our eyes - just like we see the blue sky.
Nature’s got so many different faces. It can be angry, sad, in love ore even depressed. This here, I perceive as a friendly smile. Beautiful colours gently swaying in the warm summer breeze. That makes me smiling back instantly.

There was a small feral population of Rock Pigeons in Cairns, mostly dark like this one. Another example of the perceived "need" to have things that reminded new arrivals of home.

Mi piace fotografare la luna fino ad un paio di giorni prima della fase di plenilunio.
Solo così si percepiscono i rilievi montuosi, i crateri lunari e la sua sfumata sfericità. La scorsa notte l'ho fotografata al 100% con la massima illuminazione, ma la troppa luce la appiattiva rendendola più simile ad una enorme medaglia piuttosto che una bellissima sfera in viaggio nello spazio.

I like to photograph the moon up to a couple of days before the full moon phase.
This is the only way to perceive the mountainous reliefs, the lunar craters and its nuanced sphericity. Last night I photographed it at 100% with maximum lighting, but too much light flattened it making it more like a huge medal rather than a beautiful sphere traveling in space.

You maybe remember the dill-firework from last week. When You add some rain to this filigree construction, this here is emerging. I am totally delighted.
But what is fascinating most is the thought, that this plant is existing for so long already and I’ve seenseen it an uncountless number of times. And still had to turn 50 years old to really perceive this beauty. It is never to late, to open your eyes.
Vielleicht könnt Ihr Euch noch an das Dill-Feuerwerk von vor einer Woche erinnern. Fügt man zu dieser filliganen Konstrukton noch etwas Regen hinzu, dann entsteht dies hier. Ich bin restlos begeistert.
Was mich allerdings am meisten fasziniert ist der Gedanke, dass es diese Pflanze schon so lange gibt und ich sie schon unzählige Male gesehen habe. Und doch musste ich 50 Jahre als werden, um diese Schönheit wirklich wahrnehmen zu können. Es ist nie zu spät, die Augen zu öffnen.

The Grey Hypocolius (Hypocolius ampelinus) is a small passerine bird species. It is the sole member of the genus
Hypocoliusand is placed in a family of its own, the Hypocoliidae.
This slender and long-tailed bird is found in the dry semi-desert region of northern Africa, Arabia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and western India. They fly in flocks and forage mainly on fruits, migrating south in winter
The Grey Hypocolius is a shy and unobtrusive, even cryptic, bird which will fly to thick cover when disturbed, where it will remain motionless until the perceived danger has passed. Its flight is strong and direct (without undulations It will form flocks, especially in winter, and roost communally.

Le Héron cendré, comme beaucoup d'Ardéidés, peut rester immobile pendant de longs moments sur la rive, en attendant le passage d'une proie. C'est un chasseur passif, perché sur une patte, avec le cou enfoncé dans les épaules.
S'il perçoit une menace, il étire son cou tout en restant immobile et vigilant, et peut s'envoler dans l'instant.
Le Héron cendré peut aussi chasser en posture basse, accroupi, le corps et le cou parallèles au sol ou à la surface de l'eau. Quand la proie est assez proche, il la transperce de son bec acéré.
Il marche aussi lentement dans l'eau peu profonde, surveillant le passage des proies potentielles.

The Gray Heron, like many Ardeidae, can remain motionless for long periods on the shore, waiting for the passage of prey. He is a passive hunter, perched on one leg, with his neck buried in his shoulders.
If he perceives a threat, he stretches his neck while remaining motionless and vigilant, and can fly away in the moment.
The Gray Heron can also hunt in low posture, crouching, body and neck parallel to the ground or the surface of the water. When the prey is close enough, it pierces it with its sharp bill.
It also walks slowly in shallow water, monitoring the passage of potential prey.
Normally, I don't let Rooster out until I know Mama moose has left the premises but she came back so it was a surprise that her and Rooster met up. Now, If any of you wonder what would happen if you encounter any wildlife on the trail how your dog would react....well, they bring them back to you. That's right, Mama moose came galloping right past me down my driveway. She doesn't perceive me as a threat so I was safe. Imagine if that was a bear? Something I learned from this picture is when a moose is perturbed their ears go comically sideways. She has never showed me that facial expression.
Of course, Rooster thinks it is all a game, just another horse on the property.
As a side note, sadly Rooster got ran over by a truck just outside my ranch gate by a passerby going about 80, he was rushed to the Dog ER on Sunday. He suffered a pulmonary contusion so he is on bed rest and as you can imagine not happy about it now that he is on the mend. All a very traumatic ordeal, I will forever be haunted by his cry as he got run over. Hope he has learned his lesson about cars as I never had a dog that didn't respect motorized vehicles. Had I known, I wouldn't have rescued him, there is only one ending, but apparently Rooster has a guardian angel. BTW- ER Vets think you shit out money, just saying. $1600 a night. This dog is going to give me a heart attack yet. Where is my beloved Sadie Dawg when I need her? Heavy sigh....
It's a human thing to humanise, when you look at Animals, Insects, Spiders, what have you, and notice expressions that we then mentally transmute empirically the emotions, yet do such creatures honestly feel this?! Really depends, many argue that such neurological behaviour must extend from sentience, but how do we judge that? Or measure it? If someone sees a shade of a blue sky and is aware that another may see an alternative hue of, more or less the same colour of blue, could it be argued that one's existential emotion is exact to that of another, now throw in an entirely different species and ponder the question again.
I took this shot of the spider and then saw the "expression" in its eyes, so to speak; a look that I perceive as of guilt and a desperation to change, from this psychopathic killing machine to a more sentient and appreciative being. But that's just me!

Still, motionless, to represent something that this year is hard to perceive because it lacks the "magic", the desire, the strength. There are no hugs, obvious smiles while the faces are masked so as not to be helpless. Few people, few looks and few words. Saint Mary’s Cathedral is located in the historic center of Poti. In particular : В in today’s Central Park. This location of the building was chosen because of the rays perceived from the street.
Poti is a city, which was built according to a plan. 12 squares were joining the central street (twelve Apostles sign) and the ray sign was created. The most important event in the history of Poti was the building of Guria-Samegrelo eparchy’s cathedral in 1906-1907 years, In which’s construction, great contribution belongs to Niko Nikoladze.
The project was created by A. Zelenko. The project is the reduced analog of Constantinople’s Hagia Sofia. Later, after that, R. Marpeld made some corrections in project, the project was approved. The church was entertained to hold 2000 prayers. The construction of the church was tasked to “Black Sea Building Society”. The construction began in 6 July, 1906 and finished in September, 1907. It lasted for 1 year and 3 months. It was opened on 14 September “Jvartamagleba” holiday. The church’s foundation was blessed, by Guria-Samegrelo bishop, Giorgi.
On 22 May, 1907 the cross was erected on the dome of the church. Soviet government, turned the cathedral into theatre. In 2005, by the prayer-blessing of Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia, the cathedral returned to the Poti patriarchate ownage.
Fruiting bodies (also known as mushrooms or toadstools) of the ghost fungus, Omphalotus nidiformis, taken at night, growing in a friend's backyard near where I live. The fruiting bodies grew over the next six days before they started to decompose.
Lighting conditions were not ideal as there was light from a neighbour's house. Ideally, it should be completely dark when photographing the bioluminescence of these fungi.
The gills of the fungus emit green light. However, humans perceive it as white light because we cannot see colour in low light conditions. The camera sensor can pick up the colour. Some processing.
The exact purpose of this bioluminescence is not known but it may be used to attract small insects which then transport the fungus' spores to new areas. I did see some very small insects and an amphipod on the fungus.
The fungus breaks down dead wood by forming a web of fine white root-like hyphae, which are referred to as the mycelium, in the rotting wood.

L'oie cendrée est un élégant palmipède et la souche sauvage de notre oie domestique mais il n'en possède pas la silhouette massive. L'ensemble du plumage est gris-brun avec des reflets blancs sur le dessus, gris plus clair tacheté de noir sur le dessous. Le ventre et le dessous de la queue sont blancs. Le dessus de la queue, courte, est blanc et gris. Lorsqu'elle est en vol, on perçoit parfaitement la face antérieure des ailes grises. L'épais bec orange clair revêt une forme particulière avec son onglet blanchâtre à l'extrémité. Enfin, les pattes palmées sont roses.

The greylag goose is an elegant palmiped and the wild strain of our domestic goose but it does not have the massive silhouette. The entire plumage is gray-brown with white reflections on the top, lighter gray with black spots on the underside. The belly and the underside of the tail are white. The top of the tail, short, is white and gray. When in flight, the anterior surface of the gray wings is perfectly perceived. The thick, light orange bill has a special shape with its whitish tab at the tip. Finally, the webbed feet are pink.
