I was lucky enough to be allowed inside Portland Head Light yesterday morning to take a shot of the amazing spiral staircase that winds its way to the top. I had been going to use my tripod, but it turned out that my favorite view reminded me of a Chambered Nautilus shell sliced in half, which required me to set the camera down on one of the bottom steps and stand back! This is a 3 image HDR--exposures were 15, 20 and 30 seconds long. I used my Pentax DA 12-24mm lens at 12mm. I ended up turning off the lights because I liked the natural sunlight that was filtering in better than the pinkish electric lights.
