The Pentacon FM is an internally perfected variant of the revolutionary Zeiss Ikon Contax S, the first SLR with pentaprism (probably). It was produced c.1958-1961. The change of name of Contax to Pentacon (and many others) was due to the fact that in the West, the Contax brand was owned by Zeiss's "capitalist" part after WW2.
Apart from the name, one of the few observable changes are larger forward and rewind handles. The rest are internal mechanical modifications. As in my earlier made Contax S(d), the curtains are in bad shape, but maybe in fast speeds it could work, more or less.
