While visiting this beautiful Castle of Methoni, some thunderclouds where arising. While most visitors quickly went back to the entrance area, we took shelter at the Bourtzi (where this photo is taken from) to be able to take this photo from the impressive cloud formation.

Kardamyli (Mani, Peloponnese, Greece) during some rough weather. On the bottom you can see the old town of Kardamyli and above Ritsa beach.
There is always a place not far from you..and you.. and you... and me ...
there are deep inside, behind the heart door hidden treasures,
we call them senses and sometimes the breath of a voice reaches us.
Quietly, almost shyly, she remotely reaches our Eyes and ears, gives warmth ...
strokes our skin with waves of joy covers the heart with dreams of silk.

as rain and thunderstorms were closing in, the sky got a very interesting structure. Instead of my first instinct of getting away I stayed at the place and took some interesting pictures.

Το λουλουδι ιρις πηρε το ονομα του απο την Θεα Ιριδα,την Θεα του ουρανιου τοξου.Η Ιρις ηταν επισης και αγγελιοφορος των θεων κυριως του Δια και της Ηρας.
Μετεφερε μηνηματα απο το ματι του ουρανου ,στη γη με την καμπυλη του ουρανιου τοξου.
Η λεξη ιρις σημαινει "ματι του ουρανου"
Το ονομα που δοθηκε στη Θεα,στο λουλουδι και στην κορη των ματιων μας.
Αυτο σημαινει οτι ο καθενας απο μας κουβαλαει μαζι του
ενα κομματι του ουρανου.

The Gialova lagoon, in the southwestern part of the Peloponnese Peninsula, is a place where many species of birds of passage stop on their way from Europe to Africa and back.
Gialova Lagoon is a birder's paradise, home to over 270 species on account of its shallow waters and abundance of fish and plants. It's Greece's southernmost major wetland and the only place in Europe where you can see the African chameleon. The lagoon is part of the Natura 2000 network, a group of ecological important protected areas in the European Union.

The beautiful waterfalls of Polilimnio are situated about 30km west of Kalamata, Peloponnese, Greece. You can swim in these beautiful pools, but be aware that there are some snakes. Luckily they seem to be very shy.

Echo (Greek Ἠχώ) is in Greek mythology the Oreade (mountain nymph) of Mount Helikon and a daughter of Gaia. After her the well-known phenomenon of the echo is named.

Around Kardamili (Mani, Peloponnese) and the Viros Gorge there are some beautiful hiking paths. We started in Kardamili, went up to the church of Hagia Sophia and then down to the Viros Gorge, a gorge which is mostly dry in summer, but when it rains in the Mountains around Mt. Taygetos (peak at: 2407m) it becomes a very rough river.

Mythical Grεεcε
Methoni was known from the time of Homer already, who mentions it as one of the seven towns that were promised to Achilles by Agamemnon, to appease his anger and persuade him to go back to the battle. Pausanias and Stravon call it Mothoni and identify it as the Homeric town.
Methoni war schon aus der Zeit Homers bekannt, der es als eine der sieben Städte erwähnt, die Agamemnon Achilles versprochen hatte, um seinen Zorn zu besänftigen und ihn zu überreden, in die Schlacht zurückzukehren. Pausanias und Stravon nennen es Mothoni und identifizieren es als die homerische Stadt.
