This young Magpie Lark, otherwise known as Pee Wee was searching for left over crumbs at Pollen the café at the National Botanic Gardens, Canberra. The birds were not at all afraid of humans and hopped around waiting for humans to leave their tables to try out the leftover food. It is a problem for many an outdoor Cafe with Gulls, Kookaburra's, Magpies and other birds being particularly adaptable to this situation and able to hassle diners. This statue hangs precariously over a valley ravine. Supposedly it symbolizes courage and is the artist's son depicted.
