“Rimskittle’s Book” by Leroy F. Jackson and pictures by Ruth Caroline Eger. Rand McNally & Co., 1926. Oh, this book is so fun……

Walking the halls of the old Fantus Clinic of Cook County Hospital. It was interesting seeing the old wall art and posters left behind. This clinic treated many low income patients.

Although this version of Kingsley's "The Water-babies" was found in a third grade reader, I truly love these illustrations by Vera Stone Norman.

I almost never get credit lines with my RF images so this was a nice surprise! "Healthy People Goals" lol, love it. :)

A delightful insert meant for children from the January 1927 Delineator. Copyright 1926 Butterick Company. Both pages illustrated by Janet Laura Scott. A gift from Barbara.

A direct quote:

"Butterick also published a series of pamphlets for children titled The Little Delineator. Designed for both boys and girls, the pamphlets featured eight pages of stories, artwork and contests. Each issue focused on a theme (often a holiday or season). They also featured play ideas (items to make), and on teaching morals and values. The series did not have a fashion focus as did The Delineator, but was more general in outlook. Each issue offered some kind of prize or reward and a Deli-Club membership card. The series did not contain advertising."

A stupendous gift from Barbara. It came from Ladies' Home Journal, July 1927.

“Rocking Island” written and illustrated by Edwin M. Love. Thomas Nelson and Sons, New York, 1927.

I have added a new category: Science Fiction! I fell in love with the illustrations in this book, and have seen mention of few others on-line, especially the 1923 book "The Ship That Flew to Mars." I have included one illustration from the "Ship" for comparison purposes here.

So I didn't get this up in time for Halloween......

...and where all the strong and pretty children live."

The standard reply: "You can't get into Happytown. Your smile isn't pretty enough. And you aren't strong enough. Too bad you can't keep on growing new strong white teeth......"

Sometimes the clippings Barbara sends me has a lot of interest on the back, and sometimes I can pick up the thread of the story, like a detective. Bob and Betty here obviously belong in my "Dental Hygeine" set, although you would never know it by the images.

A real charmer from 1898.

“The Beginner’s Reader” by Florence Bass who copyrighted in 1898. Published by D.C. Heath & Company. Unknown who the illustrator was.

Bits of my collection! Released in 1962 and depicts children reading, sleeping infant, playing ball, vaccination. Scott #891-894 (Portugal). These are definitely some of my favorite stamps in my collection--the gestures of these children are so natural, nuanced, sweet and simple.

Treating infants and children comes under the department of pediatrics. Since children have very low immunity power they get easily affected by flu and other diseases. The physician who takes care of the infants and treats them in a better way is called pediatricians. They bring a good source of revenue to the medical organization without any laybacks. To make that revenue more effective we help with our billing services which are top-notch. The billing services which we offer are user-friendly and many of our clients are so happy to use our software.
