In case you don't know him (he's possibly the most photographed tree in California) he's on the right.
I never thought he was too much of a "lone cypress" since he does have some friends out on his rock as you can see.

Thanks to Markus, who stood almost perfectly still for 30 seconds Especially since the waves were huge and that spot is quite scary.
Named due to their behaviour of turning stones over with their beaks to feed on insects, crustaceans, and molluscs. They are particularly well camouflaged and tricky to spot and photograph.
