Lovely colours. I like the idea of these flowers (planted around trees on the edge of the pavement). Sadly, many folk leave litter and dog exhaust around them, and this proved to be an interesting crop to ensure they were not included!

Formed 200m years ago and now being exposed by coastal erosion. Somerset, England

Lots of supervision going on here, as seen on a walk.

Nobody ever arrives on time for coffee!

The limestone pavement at the top of Malham Cove, England, The clints are the blocks of the pavement, the grykes are the fissures that separate them (in case anyone was wondering).

I'm sure when I last went past this site it was a petrol station! No problem selling all these new houses it would seem.

Seems to have an exhaust issue too! As seen in Essex.

From a slide taken in August 1984 on a walk around London, we have the taxi rank entrance to Liverpool Street station to the right, and the large and grimy Broad Street station the next building down.

A real image of change, by the end of 1986 Broad Street station was no more making way for the Broadgate development, and Liverpool Street station is very different now as well.

Although long changed, it reminds me of my first years at work where this was simply a daily scene.

Always take photos of your area. You think things will stay the same but they rarely do.

Some of you with eidetic memories may remember a photo I posted a year ago that looked a lot like this, reproduced in the first comment. Actually there are a lot of these glass bricks in Seattle. This one was in a more hostile environment than the first.

MY FEEBLE ATTEMPT AT ABSTRACT MINIMALISM.

I WAS PARKED. IT LOOKED INTERESTING. SO I ROLLED DOWN THE WINDOW AND SNAPPED IT.

urban abstract realism

Painted pavement in Old Town (aka Spanish Town) in San Diego, CA.

In the second half of the 20th century, when the car was king, the parish council decided to lower the kerbstones in order to help cars and trucks manage the narrow t-junction. They did not really think of the pedestrians who are now "sharing" the pavement (footpath, sidewalk, trottoir) with the cars.

Bloody things, zooming around on pavements and generally being an effin’ nuisance….in my day etc, etc
