Impressions of an Impressionist. A tentative nod to Paul Cezanne...

One from the archives, when I had fun making a driftwood boat to take me to other adventures. It's what I need now, a magical boat to drift through memories and a sea of dreams, of wash up on another shore where we are free to spend days walking endless sands and mountain ridges. Slow Night, So Long is by Kings of Leon.
Spiral Staircase at St Paul’s Cathedral
Built-in the early 1700s, the Dean’s staircase in St Paul’s Cathedral, London is more recently known as the entrance to Professor Trelawney’s divination classroom in the Harry Potter films.
The medieval spiral staircase features wrought iron spindles and patterns that are beautifully forged into the balustrades.

St Pauls Cathedral
Wikipedia: St Paul's Cathedral is an Anglican cathedral in London that is the seat of the Bishop of London. It is on Ludgate Hill at the highest point of the City of London and is a Grade I listed building. Its dedication to Paul the Apostle dates back to the original church on this site, founded in AD 604, which was mostly destroyed by the Great Fire of London. The present structure, dating from the late 17th century, was designed in the English Baroque style by Sir Christopher Wren.
The cathedral is one of the most famous and most recognisable sights of London. Its dome, framed by the spires of Wren's City churches, has dominated the skyline for over 300 years. At 365 feet (111 m) high, it was the tallest building in London from 1710 to 1963. The dome remains among the highest in the world. St Paul's is the second-largest church building in area in the United Kingdom after Liverpool Cathedral.

“Sometimes when I look at you,
I feel I'm gazing at a distant star.
It's dazzling,
but the light is from tens of thousands of years ago.
Maybe the star doesn't even exist any more.
Yet sometimes that light seems more real to me than anything.”
