Not as elastic as ribbing, but a stretchy fabric. Walker recommends knitting with smallish needles and I agree that it looks best when knit at a tighter gauge than recommended for the yarn. If I did it again, I'd probably go down at least a needle size.
A modern day TV test pattern. Test patterns were first used to assist TV set owners with adjusting their sets, but today's are for studio use and are a rare sight over the air (a local station was airing this on an unused sub-channel until programming was added).
Pattern is from a Laura Wheeler catalog. I think it was published in the 1940's but it didn't have a date on it.
Good Morning!
A recent image from a walk around Durham, NC. I always find it amazing how by just looking around, you can find beautiful things.
Happy hump day and enjoy the rest of your week!
Cheers,
Wade

These pictures were ideas for a poster for my amateur dramatics group. The play we're doing is called "Bedroom Farce" which is about the relationship troubles between 4 married couples. The setting is 3 bedrooms, each with a double bed, and what inspired me to concentrate on the image of sardines was a scene in the play where the oldest couple decide to eat sardines on toast in bed (its very funny)...
What do you think of these as ideas (I know that the photos need to be better, but I was trying to get the idea across)?
Many thanks to Knautia, whose toast pictures:

inspired me to try out this technique! Visit her photostream to see!
By the way, the sardines are not real, I copied pictures cut from a picture in a magazine.
