There's only one starting point for the upper pattern. Edging starts with a ring and it's only one row. Sorry for the doubled start's sign.

It's important to take a closer look at the natural world because it's so much more different than most people depict it from afar. My inspiration was a thunder storm. Not necessarily one that I saw recently, but one I've seen before. The most challenging part of illustrator for me was making a seamless pattern. It took me a while to line each 'pattern square' up with the others. After I was able to bring each square together, it was pretty easy for me to use the shape builder tool to connect them.
Detail of the insides of a giant clam. The marine lab of the University of the Philippines breeds these in order to restock wild populations.

This is the ceiling at the Sault Ste. Marie public library. It looks really cool from an angle, can get dizy if you look at it for too long.
"Long summer days choked with wildfire haze has made this the smokiest summer on record in Alberta's biggest cities.
Environment Canada data shows Edmonton and Calgary have set new records for "smoke hours," which are counted when the haze becomes particularly thick, reducing visibility along the horizon to 9.7 kilometres or less.
Records on smoke hours have been kept for more than 70 years. The previous record for both Edmonton and Calgary was set in 2018.
Between May and September of that year, Edmonton recorded 229 smoke hours. Calgary recorded 450 smoke hours during the same time frame.
This year, as of Sunday (3 September 2023), Edmonton has recorded 244 smoke hours. Calgary has recorded 464 smoke hours so far this summer.
The totals for both cities are expected to rise as smoke continues to drift in from wildfires burning in B.C. and the north." From The Weather Network, 4 September 2023.

"A friend told me about a display of fungi near Fish Creek Park last year, so of course I had to go and check it out : ) Taken on 29 June 2012, near the edge of the eastern end of the park. Wish I knew what kind of mushrooms these are - I love the patterns that form on the top surface of the caps. They look so much like some of the Easter Hot Cross Buns that I buy.
Any chance that these could be Cracked-Cap Mushroom / Agrocybe dura? Apparently, they are very common in wood mulch, which fits with my photo."

I've had lots of little volunteers Japanese painted fern seedlings popping up this year. And the plants I put in 7 or 8 years ago are full and spreading.
I'm a city dweller, so I couldn't tell if this was barley and Queen Anne's Lace; whatever it is, it seemed like a wallpaper pattern.
On a day trip to Lake Clearwater to take some snow shots. We left before dawn so we could catch the morning sun on the mountains. Canterbury High Country June 27, 2015 New Zealand. It was -7c here!
Lake Clearwater is a place of relative peace and solitude. Motor powered craft are not permitted on the lake however rowboats, kayaks, and windsurfers can be used. The strong and consistent winds funnelling off the mountains are a slice of heaven for windsurfers.
A small village of around 100 holiday homes (or baches as they are called in New Zealand) are located on the ground that seperates Lake Clearwater from Lake Camp, a two minute walk away. Overnight camping is permitted at a basic reserve area situated on the South end of Lake Clearwater, providing toilet facilities and water (required to be boiled for drinking).
