This was just me playing around with a photo of some autumn tree. Thought it looked quite interesting as a pattern. It's almost like one of those ink pictures people tell you to look at and say what you see. For me it looks a bit like a bird about to open its wings

I'm not sure what this is, but it sure is pretty. Hope it doesn't sting! :( I can't find a ID photo in my field guide, maybe a sand wasp? Not sure, I'm open to some id help!

Patterns at "the other" Kekaha Kai State Park on the Big Island of Hawai`i. There are two patches on the map marked as "Kekaha Kai State Park". One has a nice paved road leading to it. The other is about ten minutes drive over unimproved road (i.e. rock). This beach is at the one that's harder to get to.
My latested crochet project. At first I didn't get this pattern and ended up tearing it all out and starting over. It's going good now though.

I just got my first piece of fabric back from Spoonflower. This could be a new mad obsession and I definitely need a new sewing machine.
Free pattern by Marsha Olson from Dollreader. www.dollreader.com/crafting-sew.php?id=356 for both top and skirt. I made the skirt without the waistband or trim.
I add a mark/pin lower than the end of the ine on the pattern piece, as described in the pattern, but keeping the 1/2" seam allowance below the extensions.
