I am not normally a fan of a busy image, but I liked the colours and pattern formed by the crosshatching of grasses and the contrasting texture and shapes of the water droplets.
This is a photo of patterns in the sand at Port Maitland Beach. The image has been mirrored and copied twice to be symmetrical.
We have several of these growing in our yard - they produce ornate patterns of complex leaf structures and are used as "backdrops" with brighter flowers in front.

Solar lamp in our neighbour's garden casts its light on the surrounding snow. This is a colour shot.

Looks like men aren't the only things subject to male pattern baldness. Shot in the new Godwin Biodiversity Preserve in Surrey, BC. (Because, well, where else would you find dandelions except maybe all over North America, South America, Europe, Middle East, Asia, or Australia?)
We saw these patterns in various places along the beach. We thought horseshoe crabs may have made them, but I'm not sure. If they did, they were really big ones.
Finally manged to take this photo. Will be showing a few more.

The mood and colours are so much more realistic than mine!! A great one!
Some of ours might look similar but it is such a learnign experience to be able to see what the 3 others were able to create on the day in exactly the same environment!! :)
These made it to Interweave Crochet Magazine Summer 2009 issue. The cupcakes were included in an article on crocheted food :)

thought to have been built about 28000BCE, Maeshowe is a spectacular neolithic chambered burial mound. the entrance tunnel that visors crawl through is about 36ft/11m long and only 3ft/0.9m high. we had to stoop/crawl through to get into the inner chamber. inside the roof was stepped or corbelled up to a bee-hive like structure. the sense of space although small was very awe inspiring. the entrance is aligned to allow the winter solstice morning sun to stream through and light up the rear wall. photography inside the chamber wasn't allowed, not sure how this image managed to get into my camera. the top of the roof painted white was added on to give the impression of the original that was lost when the archeologists entered.
this was the first of the neolithic sites that we managed to visit on Orkney.
These past few days I have been arranging all the tangle patterns that i have collected. Thought it would be nice to try make some designs myself...

Leaf patterns and textures taken with an Olympus EM-10 in Sankey valley park, St Helens' Merseyside.
A simple pattern, but enjoyable for the negative space left after the shading. A style of Maltese Cross is visible in the gaps.
