It's December, time for stars to be put up as Christmas frenzy builds up.
The patterns that they throw into shadows are one that i love.
Here is an image from Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Muscat, Oman that is a reminder of intricate light patterns in shadows.
The mosque just as the name sounds is a grand architectural marvel, the construction of which started in 1995 and opened to public in 2001. WHat i loved about being there in the night was that i could experience this beautiful play of light and shadow in its various spaces especially the alleys.

A trip to Craignethan Castle, Lanarkshire. The last great castle of the middle ages in Scotland.
Built in the 1530s by James Hamilton of Finnart, Bastard of Arran, Steward of the Royal Household and Master of Works to King James V of Scotland. He had travelled in Italy, and it shows.

Found this pattern outside a leisure centre near me. Original print is lovely, but it hasn't scanned so well.
As promised months ago, here is my pattern for a miniature knitted pencil dress, designed for both Petite Blythe dolls, Dollcenas and Little Pullips.
