Woodins are mysterious apparitions that inhabit fallen trees in the tickets of Central Park. Spotting them requires light footsteps and plenty of acorns to coax them out of hiding.

Very old unknown pattern

made of felt, about 8 inches tall. pattern said to take pattern and enlarge 200% but fearing higher math i just used the pattern size given. i do like small!

This plant is in a flower arrangement sitting at the Front Desk. I like the little curl of the new leaf!

I could not identify it in June 2013.

In June 2014 I believe it is ~

Senecio vitalis. Also Senecio vitalis "Serpents" and Senecio cylindricus (vitalis / talinoides).

Exotic garden in the Odenwald

A small but fine private botanical garden in the Odenwald, Hesse, Germany with the focus on Yucca & Co.

Yucca necopina Shinners, Spring Fl. Dallas-Fort Worth. 91, 408. 1958

Vernacular names: Brazos River Yucca, or Glen Rose Yucca

A rare endemic native to a small region in north-central Texas, in Somervell, Hood, Parker, and Tarrant Counties, west of Dallas and Fort Worth, River terraces, deep sand; 200--300 m

This is the first flowering specimen of this Yucca in Germany, and it is grown from Seeds collscted by Fritz Hochstetter in Texas as Y. arkansana (var. / subsp) necopina, field collection number fh 1185.29. In his new treatments Hochstetter conceals this taxon. Also, the forthcoming treatment for the FNA will treat this taxon as a synonym for Yucca arkansana, But field and molecular studies support species rank!

Build with Friends

With simulated physics and gravity, Patterns offers a new twist on 3D multi-player sandbox building games. Create your very own 3D universe, complete with powerful crafting tools, surprising shapes (triangles, anyone?), crazy creatures and even explorable planets.

Harvest and build with friends a variety of substances including ice that slides, fruit that bounces and materials that levitate. Whether you're building bridges to traverse chasms or towers that reach high into the sky, Patterns is your universe to shape.

Share your Creations

Invite friends and explore with the new multi-player option. Put your imagination and ingenuity to the test as you and your friends create simple or complex structures from elemental substances. Your formations may result in unexpected behaviors -- some creations will fall, while others may orbit. Share your creations and upload your planets to The Cosmos then download new worlds to explore or re-make as your own.

Ginger skirt by Colette Patterns, lined with Sari fabric

Blogged here

scruffybadgertime.co.uk/2011/11/what-ho-ginger/

My version of Colette Patterns' Peony dress. I bought cotton poplin from Denver Fabrics and expected it to me a bit stiffer. Not so much! This was super sheer and lightweight. I lined the bodice and decided I'd just wear a slip for the skirt.

There were a couple fit problems with this dress, which I've mentioned on the Colette Patterns site: I have a very short torso and narrow shoulders, but I'm busty, so I can't cut a smaller size to compensate. without a cardigan on, you can tell that the shoulders are falling off and there's a huge wad of fabric mid-back that is looking for a torso to cover. It won't find one here! I'd love any tips for that before I make another.

Whatever :)

Funny, HERE's an example of patternicity that chase the same kind of 'image ghosts' provided by Mother Nature.
