That tree growing at the bottom of a valley entering Huangshan, China, must have some chameleon instinct.
If I hadn't raised my head to check its top, or noticed the few leaves growing from its trunck, I might have missed it.
Vegetal camouflage mimicking the rock. Kind of magic.
I drew and colored sheets of repeating patterns, then cut them into strips, and reassembled them into something like mosaic tile patterns. I cut and glue these onto plain cardboard boxes. Rather festive little things, and a ridiculously obsessive amount of work. But it's an enjoyable process for me.

same color scheme ha! i actually made this the same night the other week and totally forgot about it. i can't wait to experiment printing these on some super fancy card stock!
This is the ceiling at the Sault Ste. Marie public library. It looks really cool from an angle, can get dizy if you look at it for too long.

Every single morning all the fisherman from the little village at Ngapali Beach come back home with their night catch. At the beach all the women wait for them and afterwards work with drying and selling fish and other creatures from the sea begins.
