This window is dedicated to the memory of all those organs and tissue were retained without the knowledge or consent of the relatives and families follwing post mortern examinations in former times.
The outline of a mountain peak and converging pathways speak of hardship shared by all those who mourn while leaves fall silently fromthe tree as tears. A red ribbon binds all together in passion and pain.
But the rising sun promises a new dawn, and hope is symbolised by doves ascending and a butterfly spreading its wings in anticipation of flight
United in the light of rembrance, both candles and a muititude of stars preserve the memory of the many loved ones commemorated by this window.
This window was funded by the Department of Heath, Social servies and Public Safety and designed by Nora Gaston of Arts Core in collaboration with members of the Relatives' Reference Group and Karl Harron. it was manufactured by Glass Scene.

This is one of my favorite shots. I first took it standing straight up and then thought it would look really cool if I got down on my knees and took the shot again at that angle. I was right. It looks great in color as well but converting it to B&W made it more dramatic.
Back pathway long since returned to natures processes. Hope Cal Poly Pomona's project comes through, yet former Earthside Nature Center's character & history is somehow integrated & preserved. Only wish I had known bout/ toured this open southern California natives space while in area as a lad. Pasadena hopefully will finally integrate the Eaton Canyon Wash pathways & the Golden Necklace Trail Project,
