Pathways wants students to be able to express their own ideas, to be able to live in their own world for some time, to be able to learn what kind of a person they really are from the inside.
To do this, we provide a variety of instruments for the students to play with and be able to learn the power of sound and music in their lives.

I made a Magna-Tile elephant for Evan, based on one of the pictures from the paper that came with the set. But despite requesting it, Evan was more interested in using the other pieces to make a pathway.

Eu tenho um carinho especial por essa foto. Foi uma das primeiras fotos que bati com a (na época, nova) Olympus de 2 MP do meu pai. Na época, eu não entendia NADA de composição ou de fotografia em geral. Mas foi a primeira vez que eu tive a sensação de ter fotografado algo legal (mais do que uma simples imagem). Foi o que me levou a começar a aprender sobre este assunto, até se tornar o hobby especial que é hoje.

This photo is very special for me. It was one of the first that I took with my father's new camera (at the time), an Olympus with 2 MP. At that time, I knew NOTHING about composition or other photography topics. Nevertheless, was the first time I had the feeling that I've got something special (more than just a regular image). After this I started learning about photography, so it became the very special hobby that is now.
A serene sidewalk flanked by lush greenery invites a peaceful stroll through a vibrant neighborhood.
About 20 years ago I was on work experience at the Country Park in Daventry and this was just a pathway through a field with no trees.
The head ranger at the time asked me how I would stop people from walking off the path and trampling the grass so I told him to plant a row of trees...20 years later and it seems to have done the trick!

Typical of the beauty that is the grounds of Beamish Museum is this leafy pathway. This particular one leads from near the entrance to the colliery village and is used by hundreds of visitors every day, many of whom probably don't even notice the spectacle that they pass through.
