Pathway outside Wollaton Hall, Nottingham. Sunshine and generally bright weather after the recent snowfall.

Gautama Buddha or Siddhartha Gautam was the founder of Buddhism. This spiritual leader is regarded in high regard among followers of Buddhism as he left all worldly pleasures at a young age to become an ascetic. Though there is uncertainty over the birth date of this noble soul but it is stated that Gautama Buddha lived between 563 BC and 483 BC.

A messenger of peace and humanity, He's revered as one of the earliest preacher of non-violence.

This idol of Lord Buddha in his princely form was very calming and peaceful with the gentle smile for which he was very well known. The idol was mesmerically calm and beautiful.

We arrived early. After a walk my friend asked to take some photos.

Took a trip recently to Avery Island. Did not bother with the Tabasco Factory, but rather spent a few hours at Jungle Gardens exploring the beautiful landscapes and pathways.

Forgotten Feet

By

Roger Turner

If you see a lonely furrow,

In some desolate spot,

Think of those who walked this way,

In this place that time forgot.

What stories could this pathway tell,

Of those forgotten feet.

All sorts of boots and sizes,

And ladies shoes, petite.

Maybe a tired old donkey,

Carrying a heavy pack.

Or the plodding of a lost horse,

Finding its own way back.

A mumbling monk says rosary,

From beads around his neck,

While heading from the mother house,

On his solitary trek.

See the little farm boy,

Leading a bull to stud.

Or the shepherd with a flock sheep,

Turning the pathway to mud.

Children happily running,

Singing songs as they play.

Or the beggar in rags and in tatters,

Searching for berries this day.

But maybe darker secrets,

Are hidden just out of sight,

Like the grave of the Unknown Soldier,

Killed in a battle one night.

They all walked this same pathway,

As you and I do today.

So spare a thought for forgotten feet,

As you journey on your way.

Our first morning in Cromwell. We woke to heavy fog which took a while to lift. We have arrived at Mt Difficulty Estate Winery so John can do some tasting.

The unique microclimate of the Bannockburn area is partially created by the presence of Mount Difficulty which overlooks the southern Cromwell basin, and is the namesake of Mt Difficulty Wines. Mount Difficulty is integral in providing low rainfall and humidity for the region. Bannockburn enjoys hot summers, a large diurnal temperature variation and long cool autumns; conditions which bring the best out of the Pinot Noir grapes. These conditions, along with soils which are ideal for viticulture, provide an excellent basis not only for Pinot Noir, but also for Pinot Gris, Riesling, and Chardonnay. The soils are a mix of clay and gravels, but all feature a high pH level; grapes produce their best wines on sweet soils.
