"Non nobis solum sed toti mundo nati."
"Not for ourselves, but for the whole world were we born."

The book of life is the greatest book ever written, 4 billion years in the making. Information is encoded into nature around us in everything from proteins and DNA to the flight of birds and the social lives of ants.. it contains answers to most of our problems and has provided the inspiration for the human endeavours you see around you..
We have barely begun to understand it's words and yet we insist on burning it's pages before we've ever read them..
We are all children with a lot to learn.. and we're burning Alexandria .. again
Although it might look like it, this hasn't been touched in photoshop etc, it's basically straight out of the camera. This was also shot on Velvia100 (no velvia50 in 35mm atm) .. I'll be uploading the scan shortly

The path to enlightenment is total illumination and connection.
When things are easy, clean and better than expected, a Zen state can be acquired.
EVOK Advertising created an eye-catching print advertisement that featured Ethereal’s new line of home theater cables, accompanied by a Zen Buddha.
To reach a state of Zen, surround yourself with easy to install and aesthetically pleasing cables and accessories. This state can be achieved in advertising and home theater with the right feeling, colors and placement.
The pitch-black background resembles clarity, while the Buddha donning the illuminated Ethereal logo swish, symbolizes enlightenment through insight. The water-smoothed stones are indicative of how easy the product is to install. Remember, the path to enlightenment is paved with Ethereal home theater cables.
Karchu Dratsang, Bumthang, Bhutan. Day 10, Guides: Sangay/Lobzang. As our guide, Sangay, took us to Karchu Dratsang Monastery, we were disappointed to discover that one of the very few Bhutanese temples that allowed indoor photography was locked/closed. Sangay proceeded to find this young monk in the courtyard, and asked if the monk could open the temple. The kind monk proceeded to find the key and opened the temple for us, as if it was a private showing. Shortly after entering the temple, I noticed these god-rays illuminating the room next to the monk. I asked the monk if I could take his picture, and thankfully he agreed. We talked casually with the young monk and thanked him for the experience. Upon request, the monk would bless my wife and I in the temple. Shortly thereafter, he invited us into the mess hall. We introduced ourselves and asked his name. As it turns out, this 12 year old is the reincarnation of a high-ranking monk, from another era. Like the Dalai Lama, a group of monks came to his village when he was 4 years old, and identified him as a reincarnated monk. But to prove it, 5 objects were placed in front of him. He was asked to identify the object which he possessed in his previous life. He chose correctly, and was promptly taken into the world of a monk. To this day, this young monk has never seen his parents again, and barely recollects the day he was "chosen" and taken from his village and family. I thank this young monk for taking the time to discuss his life, Buddhism in general, compassion, and meditation with me and my wife (mere foreigners). I specifically recall the lessons of calming the erratic mind, and finding a teacher/master. For as we all know, "when the student is ready, the teacher will appear."
After this completely serendipitous experience, I can remember feeling nothing but joy and gratitude. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Taken at the Skegemog Swamp Pathway at Skegemog Lake. Here's an article about the Skegemog Swamp. Before you enter the swampy area and boardwalk to the lake, you follow this railroad bed for less than a mile, then look for the footbridge on the right.

... do we see those ahead of us as a light to follow, a shadow in front of us blocking our path, or do we, should we, even see them at all?

When should we expect safe roadways that allow for the safe passage of cyclists or even pedestrians?
In my town our roads are being constantly resurfaced with bitumen even when they are in perfect condition, yet there is still no consideration for the safety of cyclists or for pedestrians who need to cross the road in order to catch a bus!
When delayed, drivers may perceive bicycles particularly long ones like mine to be the cause of their 'being delayed', Of course they are quite mistaken. ;)

Akram science has originated in India because here the anger, greed, deceit and pride have developed more than that of people in other countries. Due to this development the level of suffering is also higher in them and they need the solution for way out from this suffering. When extreme struggle comes, the search for spirituality arises and the Soul could be looked for and found out which is the very reason for the origin of Akram Science in India.

The path to attain the enlightenment travels from heart to the mind, a path towards spiritual enlightenment by mental purity with the goal to unite the Conscious mind with the soul. Enlightenment is realized when the sense of self identification comes through mind’s waves of perception, and the false self consisting of the ego, the intellect and our complete record of meaning, is dissolved. The ripples of the sea of consciousness, termed vritti, have become motionless and the spirit or aatmaa, the perceiver, knows who he is.
Let’s realize the path to enlightenment within ourselves with mental purity
