He did appear to be 'tired' that night- he went to bed early. Sulky? Not very romantic, is it? She did not join him immediately- did he feel rejected? Irritable? As to his 'accidental' firing of his weapon ~ every gun bearer has played 'what If...'. That's half the fun of carrying a gun. The chance that you can be a hero in some situation, & get to blow someone away. You prepare yourself to use your weapon. If you don't you are irresponsible. So his ' I panicked & didn't know what I was doIng' just doesn't wash. At first I was prepared to accept a genuine mistake ~ imagine the horror. But now it seems more & more likely to pure evil.
