There are paths all over Fort Williams park, many are quite well travelled and have benches for resting and enjoying the view.
Fort Williams State Park is one of our favorite places to go in the fall when the weather is nice. It's right on the water and has the ruins of Fort Williams scattered over it, as well as Portland Headlight, a beautiful lighthouse. There are walking paths all through it, and you can get right out and climb around on the rocks when the tide is out. The weather this day was just about perfect and we spent a couple hours exploring and taking in the scenery.

The smoother portions of the paths up and down Mt. Vodno weren't always that easy to traverse with all the snow. I had to foot-ski down much of the way.
A lone, radiant tree with blazing orange leaves stands in the heart of a dark, frozen valley, its reflection shimmering like molten fire on still water. A glowing, serpentine trail of golden light winds through the landscape, guiding the eye toward the illuminated tree as though it were a beacon of life in an otherwise shadowed world. Snow-capped mountains loom under a silent midnight sky, creating a striking contrast between cold darkness and warm brilliance. The scene feels surreal, mystical—an invitation to follow the Ember Path into the unknown.
