The Big Leaf Maples are starting to change colors on this path that leads to Deer Creek. What was an old dirt road that was probably used for mining and/or logging is now a close escape for walkers and cyclist that live in Nevada City, California.

The path isn't a straight line
It's a spiral
You continually come back
to things you thought you understood
and see deeper truths.

The long white cloud, as per Aotearoa's meaning, is the description of the land of New Zealand. After my last adventure here, I can definitely see that. I don't think I'll be having quite the same experience this time, as I only came down here for work, but I'm going to enjoy the area I'm in as much as I can, and not worry about "having to see all of New Zealand" when I'm here.
It's a big country, and I'm still young - There's always tourist visas, and I want to really see it, not from behind the walls of a winery, or through the vines of a vineyard.
New Zealand is a beautiful country, and as much as I like it here, I think I hyped it up more than I should have. Being my first time away from my parents house, back in early 2009, I had "virgin eyes" so to speak, and seeing this land was nothing short of awe inspiring. Now that I'm back, I still think it is quite amazing, but I'm just not wowed by it like I was 3 years ago.
Guess this means I need to see more countries. We'll see what's in store for my years to come.
