A blend of concrete and foliage leading up through the shadows to a sunny peak.

A short length of the Camino de Santiago del Norte, near Hondarribia, Spain.

This is one of several preliminary photos I have taken for my R6 challenge in the group GetPushed ( www.flickr.com/groups/1681475@N24/pool/with/6038489387/ ) . My Challenge this week for get Pushed was set by Tom Brown (http://www.flickr.com/photos/t_e_brown/. )

My push challenge this week was to do something black and white, no color. To say that this particular genre is different for me would be an understatement. I have looked at some B&W processing, but it seems I always have a preference for the color. Maybe this is because I grew up watching B&W TV in Central America - who knows? Anyhow, great challenge for me.

NOTE: I am trying several approaches to this challenge, and trying to settle with something worthy.

This particular photo was taken during the early evening and is at a local park shelter that will be the place my daughter gets married later this October. This is the gravel path from the parking lot to the shelter, and features the use of an infra-red filter.

My camera has a setting for "monochrome", so I tentatively set it to that and plunged right in. Imagine my surprise when I uploaded RAW and saw all the images were in color! So I had to re-monochrome them in post-processing, where the choice of filters to convert to B&W are daunting and intimidating. Something I will have to study up more about and play around with.

Anyhow… more to come.

Got down on the ground to see the path in our backyard through Ethan's eyes

Taken at Snowshill Manor, Gloucestershire.

A beautiful path leading down between the many Courts that make up the gardens. On either side of the path was an abundance of flowers and herbs.

The board walk at the northern end of Malham Tar, going through the birch woods.

The Wisconsin Educational Association Convention (Teacher's Convention) was this Thursday and Friday so there was no school.

This is the newly paved path along Shore Drive which connects up, via city streets, to the other new path bike path that goes down Burton Street, past the Boy's and Girl's Club, to Krueger Park swimming pool and golf course.

THANK YOU City of Beloit! The west side really, really needed this kind of improvement! Well done (and about time)!

Processed in Picasa 3 from in-camera RAW. I don't really care for how Picasa handles RAW export - it's too limited.

Well used, but where is it??

Lodz Hills Landscape Park

A path is being worn towards the railway bridge giving pedestrian access to Maidenbower.

The path on the other side of the railway is nothing like the path on this side – see below.

yesterday I went out for a walk, you know that oppressive need of isolation and solitude, but I actually don't know many places where to refuge in cases like that and since I didn't know where I was heading I simply followed a path nearby my house usually used by sheepherders and I found this quite little place characterized by a huge olive plant on the mountain from which I could see all the countryside around my village. Quite quaint of course.
