Being born and raised by the beach in Australia I have a true hearts-calling for the ocean. Salt water runs through my veins. I live in the mid-west USA now, but my heart is back home.

The Kumano Kodō (熊野古道) is a series of ancient pilgrimage routes that crisscross the Kii Hantō, the largest Peninsula of Japan. These sacred trails were and are still used for the pilgrimage to the sacred site "Kumano Sanzan" (熊野三山), or the Three Grand Shrines of Kumano: Kumano Hongū Taisha (熊野本宮大社), Kumano Nachi Taisha (熊野那智大社) and Kumano Hayatama Taisha (熊野速玉大社

Off in the background there is a model of "Schackenborg, a large manor house at Mogeltonder near the border with Germany". Like many Legoland models, the area around it is nicely landscaped with little bonsai trees and stuff.

One o the paths in the gardens of the Governor's Palace.

Trudging up the path to Loch Brandy there were a few pockets of snow still remaining. Walking across them was a bit nervy as it was quite icy and the snow was deceptively deep in some parts.

A path cuts through a lush patch of old growth forest in Carmanah valley on the west coast of Vancouver Island.

Sparkly snow from a week or so back.
