The paths are beautiful at Owls Head State Park, east of Rockland, Maine.
The path to the beach at Owls Head has a classic S-turn in it and the light was just right. It was almost too easy. No trash, well maintained — it’s a beautiful spot.

This park was so well designed. I thought if I got off the path, so to speak, I could get some nice pictures. But I realized that the park was designed from the POV of the paths. Understanding that, I have been trying to bring out what seems to me to be the designers vision as best I can.
This path is still used today by the tower-persons who record the weather and report smoke at the Mt Frankland fire lookout.

Shot on a windy night last July, summer by the bay can be pretty chilly. This image was captured as a 7 shot bracket and processed as a 32 bit tiff in Lightroom 5. Additional adjustments were made in Nik Color Efex Pro.
