Magazines, calenders, advertising; ripped, torn, cut & glued. Inspired by Derek Walcott's poem, "Love After Love".
"The time will come
when, with elation,
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror,
and each will smile at the other's welcome....."

My dear friend Lynda and her husband endured an unfathomably difficult 2011. When our small group of friends decided to exchange Secret Santa gifts, and I drew her name, I knew I had to give her something special, something to honor their inspiring marriage, that fit within the monetary limit.
I had often admired their wedding photo, and, considering the gift one day in early December, realized what I needed to create - a collage of that image.
The inspiration for their faces was the Willow Tree line of figures, one of which was my husband's & my wedding cake topper. (for example www.collectwillowtreefigurines.com/wp-content/uploads/200...)
Combination of paper lace, a Japanese coaster, washi. I try never to throw any small bits away because in card making one never needs a lot of paper to complete a project. But then I keep buying paper!
