Summertime means wasps in my shed. Luckily for me they're very patient and didn't sting me this year ;)
Strobist: Two flashes, both set at 1/4 power. I really can't remember how I positioned them since I was just trying to frame a shot w/out getting stung, but they were close--right up to the end of the lens. Shot with the Canon 100mm macro and 68mm of extension, so I could get a nice portrait without having to crop.
According to this discussion this should be somewhere in the neighborhood of 2X magnification.
Variation by Mihaela Muntean.
Folded from a hexagon cuf off of a square of 20 cm on the side of a thin paper I didn't know I had. I hid my kaleidoscope paper so well that I couldn't find it right away and I had to fold this immediatelly after I found out it existed.
I'm glad I didn't find this variation because probably I would have chosen it as the finished model, Instead now we have two models.
Mechanical room in an abandoned paper mill near Albany, N.Y. One of those places you should have explored seven years earlier, before the fire, the scrappers, the demo team and the vandals made their mark.
The paper crown made her feel better.
Inspired by my favourite Marc Johns who doodles make me smile on even the greyest of days <3

Did you know that " Origami " or paper folding was originated in China and it became popular in Japan since the 16th century. One major design was of a Crane, a sacred creature in Japan. Legend has it that 1,000 folded cranes will bring health and good fortune and it is customary to make 1,000 paper cranes for people who are ill with the hopes that they will recover. Each year millions of paper cranes are sent by people from all over the world to the Peace Memorial Park in Hiroshima as a symbol of peace and in memory of those who died as a result of the atomic bomb dropped on the city in 1945.

Found some nice blue pieces of paper and made some waves with them.
Tried to fold an origami boat what didn't work the way I wanted it to... so cut out this little boat in stead!

The colours created with a little light on white paper with reflected/refracted light though coloured paper.
Artist: William Kentridge
Made from aluminum panels and painted with oil paints. The sculptures were based on William Kentridge's earlier small scale paper sculptures made from pages of a 19th Century accounting journal from the Chiesa di San Francisco Saverio in Palermo, Sicily. The works have a feel of movement and further the artists exploration of history and memory and his use of humble materials to challenge grand narratives.

Paper artist Polly Verity's sculpted paper faces are featured on the All Things Paper blog this week. Such a fascinating process and quite the departure from her previous work: www.allthingspaper.net/2020/05/tantalizing-paper-sculptur...
