Its our mission with our burglary systems to provide for the simplest of arming options to maximize system utilization and also for well placed 'Panic" buttons to thwart potential attackers whether or not the system is armed.
I had one picture of my finger next to it but I was shaking so bad the picture was blurry. I didn't kill it, I'm hoping it'll keep the rats and other rodents out of the shed.

While on the recent Bando de Kvar ( www.flickr.com/groups/2472126@N24/ ) outing to the Liberty Village district on downtown Toronto, Ontario, we wandered Northward on Western Battery Rd until we reached the stairs leading to the King Liberty Bridge across the railway tracks. Rather than a strictly brutalist type of stair well up to the bridge, in a nod to improving the aesthetics of the stair well, a large mural/graffiti featuring flowers has been painted on the interior surfaces. Placed on the wall at ground level there was a panic button should an unfortunate situation arise. However, it seems a little lost amid the graphics. - JW

I'm being attacked by my first nemesis (yeay, I have a nemesis) Anthropolly. He's coming after me with a toilet brush. His secret weapon. Off course I got away. That's pretty frickin obvious. He just got lucky he caught me without my disguise on. Now I have to be extra careful cause he's in my class so he can sneak up on me almost every day.
The question is: anybody wants to be my bodyguard?? I already have two accomplices but I need somebody who will watch my back. And wash it. Cause I ain't gonna do it myself much longer. I'm done with that shit. being a bodyguard also means that you'll have to do some cooking now and then, while watching my back.
Played Rockband today with lot off my classmates. Took a lot of pictures. But because I don't have a pro account I'm gonna have to make another account to put the pictures on. I'll post the link in the very near future. There are some sick photos so when they're online you should check them out. //EDIT// They're here!!!!!!!!11
Found myself a new job and tomorrow is gonna be the first day over there. I actually had to cut my hair. Well... Niels cut my hair. I'll post a new hair pic one of these days so you can check it out. :)
Going to bed in a minute. Gonna dream about world domination.
Buhbye
P.s. Still have a surprise for you.
P.p.s. Think I'll do a little spoiler tomorrow.
The effects of New England weather on the Boston University Bridge steel structure - and what is the effect on people?
(From the car window while stuck in traffic.)
I purchased a new telephoto lens and just had to try it out. While driving along the highway in Banff Park, I spotted this young grizzly bear cub dinning on the fresh grass at the side of the highway. Bears often eat fresh grass at this time of the year since there is little else to consume and after a winter of hibernating they must be hungry.
This animal is young; my guess 1.5 years old. My experience is that young bears stay with their mother until age 2, but I saw no sign of mother bear. Curious.
Over the past 15-25 years I have spotted adult bears on this section of highway with this same cinnamon-brown color. Among the largest bears I have ever seen. Mother bear would be 3-4 times the size of this cub and daddy bear perhaps 5-6 times the size of the cub. This cub, if it survives, will grow into a dangerous creature possessing amazing physical strength - never to be approached.
Grizzly bears south of here, in Kananaskis for example, are black-brown in color and often have lighter colored fir in the shoulder hump that operates the powerful front paws of the animal. Several years ago, while hiking in the Kananaskis area, I can across a dead cow. A bear had killed it. The next year, on a backpacking trip in the same drainage, I met mother bear and her now 2-year old. Mother and I respectively acknowledged each other but the cub terrified me. Like a typical teenager, the cub ran around seeking attention. Apparently unaware of my presence or potential danger. I have been told that an adult male will kill a cub during the mating season if it feels that it's private area is being encroached upon. No wonder they have trouble maintaining a population.
I suspect the cow sniffed the cub the previous year and mother depressed the panic button.
The location of the photo is in the drainage of the Bow River downstream of Bow Lake.

Dangerous Business: Ecuadorian Fishing Fleet to Fit Tracker System
Leader in satellite messaging and emergency notification technologies, Globalstar, says that its Value Added Reseller, VehSmart, of Victorville, California, has been awarded the first regional pilot project of its kind for Ecuador, which will outfit the Ecuadorian artisanal fishing fleet with life-saving satellite tracking and emergency notification devices.
The project will initially outfit 4,000 small fishing boats with Globalstar's leading satellite transmitter, the SmartOne. SmartOne devices will provide Ecuadorian fishermen and women with a means for help at sea when facing a life-threatening emergency including piracy. By linking to Ecuador's National Emergency Response System, the SmartOne devices will be outfitted with a proprietary panic button that any sailor can activate discreetly to summon a rescue.
The combined risks of an unpredictable marine environment and piracy attacks make fishing one of the world's riskiest occupations, with a high annual cost both in lives and lost or stolen property. During 2012, 184 acts of piracy occurred against Ecuadorian fishermen, according to the Ecuadorian government.
During 2013 alone, the Ecuadorian government replaced 370 stolen boat motors. Pirates steal the boat motors and leave the fishermen stranded out at sea. These stranded fishermen often die, leaving families bereaved and without economic resources. Between January and April of 2013, seven Ecuadorian fishermen disappeared at sea.
The Globalstar SmartOne provides a means for fishermen to not only send an SOS, but also allows authorities to pinpoint the location of the distressed vessel and send lifesaving rescue
personnel.
The satellite devices will also provide the Ecuadorian Vice Ministry of Aquaculture and Fisheries with a wealth of information about the seasonal movements of the fishing fleet. Authorities will be able to police overfishing and better protect exclusionary zones, such as the waters surrounding the Galapagos Islands, one of the richest and most bio diverse ecosystems on earth.
"We are very excited to bring this life saving technology to the fishermen of Ecuador," said Brian Story, CEO of VehSmart. "We will be delivering unprecedented peace of mind to the families of those that risk their lives and property every day at sea."

Most of these were used in rural areas with no electricity. When electricity became available they put an electric motor on the washing machine and stuck the gas motor in the barn, shed, attic, basement, etc. Then boys got them out and built motor scooters. But how far and how fast can you go with less than a horsepower?

For a sporadic several years, Missing Man Foundation has been a live collaboration between Cal Lyall (Pfeuti, FDF, Cod Head, EJQ) and Peter Slade (Pfeuti, Legofriendly, EJQ). After the release of Panic Button on Soundispatch back in 2001, MMF had infrequent slots at events in and around Tokyo (Bullet's, Seco Bar, Velvet Sun), usually with a guest musician in tow, such as Mori Junji (sax from MOAI), Kunugi Manabu, or EJQ's Bergbahn. More recently, MMF makes a more regular appearance at Test Tone, a monthly Soundispatch event at Super Deluxe in Nishi Azabu.

That's the panic button on the right. Push that and every police officer in the building will respond with guns at the ready. In this picture, to the left is the holding area and to the right is the sally-port.
The only creature this animal would ever fear is a larger Grizzly Bear. The claws, on the exposed paw, are the reason. The large mussel, on the shoulder, above the head, operates the front paws.
In 2001, I came across a cow that had died from injuries received in the Grizzly bear attack. My guess is that the cow "sniffed" the cub, which mummy interpreted as a threat to her cub. Mummy depressed the panic button and went into full attack mode. Mummy got on the back of the cow, wrapped her front arms around, sunk the claws into the belly, and pulled back, disembowelling the cow while tearing a 2 foot square of hide off the back of the cow. I have photographs and they are not pretty.
In the fall of 2002, myself and three of my hiking buddies backpacked up the same creek for a four night stay. Two of the group went to fish at a high elevation lake and myself and the remaining hiker followed later. The bushes were laded with red berries and we had seen red bear poop seemingly everywhere.
We were following one side of a steep gully on our way to the lake when suddenly, and unexpectedly, mummy appeared on the opposite side of the gully. We were not far apart, but the gully was deep. Mummy stared at us. We stared at mummy. Mummy did not move. I was not afraid of mummy. Junior, now a year and a half old, behaved like an adolescent. And this one was to be feared. Mummy would soon abandon her cub and breed again. Mummy was trying to teach junior how to behave in the presence of unknown danger.
Junior jumped up and down and danced around mummy in an attempt to attract attention. Mummy was standing on the very edge the gully and junior, in an attempt to attract attention, jumped in front of mummy and fell into the gully. I happened so fast I didn't have time to be scared. Junior, who was 2/3 the size of mummy, just put it into four wheel drive and hopped straight up out of the gully in an amazing display of athleticism. Mummy never moved. My hiking buddy and I brushed against some bushes, as if we were feeding, and made our way toward the lake and the fishing.

Whenever an actual fact -- or even mere common sense -- threatens to derail their discourse, they push this panic button -- the DANGER: TOO MUCH KNOWLEDGE alarm. Then they can safely go back to babbling about the dangers of free contraception, building a giant electrified fence around Mexico or creating jobs by giving more tax breaks to the rich.
