Three years of study at the Architectural Stained Glass Department at Swansea culminated in the degree show, with each student (usually fewer in number by now than at the start!) allocated a window space in the building to display their work, with a mixture of panels representing the various techniques explored and styles developed by each individual.
I usually took a full set of photos of each show (I was known for being obsessive compulsive with a camera even then!) and felt uploading the full set best represents the range of talents and ideas, in many cases of people who never worked in the medium in post-college life.
If any of my contemporaries are looking in I hope they will be flattered and see this as a tribute to their achievements. If for any reason anyone is unhappy about their work being shared online do please let me know.

This is a 12 volt circuit breaker and relay panel I built several years ago that I never got around to installing. The white strip at the top of the photos is vinyl tape, which covers the "hot" copper busbar.
The black cubes at the bottom are relays, which are much more robust and long lasting for switching high amperage currents than ordinary toggle or rotary switches. The black wire connecting each relay is a common ground. The slightly larger relay at the far left is rated at 40 amps.
Note how each machine screw is long enabling double nuts for mechanical security.
The large gap in the middle of the panel is designed to accommodate all the wiring attached to the relays and breakers.

vertical panel in shades of blue, pink & textured clear, topped off with glass nuggets in various sizes
One of two panels I went to on Friday which were theoretically about photography. Unfortunately they were generally dissappointing, but there were a few nuggets I should write up.
We went to the Ghazipur school to make panels for an advocacy quilt with the students in Chintan's No Child in Trash Program. The pieces of fabric were bought from a waste-picker community in Badapour, and consisted of mostly discarded clothes. These clothes were cut into rough squares and given to the children to draw a picture about their life. The panels will be assembled and used as part of an advocacy quilt! When asked why she drew her panel, Kajal (Age 11) said “I live in Ghazipur, I drew a picture of a scenery with trees & flowers because I want to live in a place with trees, flowers & river”

The local Salavage store had their hollow core panel doors, buy one get one free at $6.00 each. We had to cut the smaller panels off of each end for a queen size bed. After painting it black I just put a couple mirror hangers on the back and hung it up. If I ever tackle my fear of the mitre saw, I'll add some decorative molding.
