If someone thinks that love and peace is a cliché that must have been left behind in the Sixties, that's his problem. Love and peace are eternal. - John Lennon

Peace is the only battle worth waging. - Albert Camus

The more we sweat in peace, the less we bleed in war. -

Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit

Peace is a full-time job. It's protecting civilians, overseeing elections, and disarming ex-combatants. Peace, like war, must be waged. -

Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! xo💜💜

"There are no warlike people, just warlike leaders." It hath been said that an unjust peace is to be preferred before a just war. It is the people who have no say in making wars who suffer from the consequences of them. * We cannot have peace among men whose hearts delight in killing any living creature.

Gene Roddenberry

Come you masters of war

You that build all the guns

You that build the death planes

You that build the big bombs

You that hide behind walls

You that hide behind desks

I just want you to know

I can see through your masks.

-- Bob Dylan

* ...how many times must the cannonballs fly

Before they're forever banned?

-- Bob Dylan

"Mankind must put an end to war, or war will put an end to mankind...War will exist until that distant day when the conscientious objector enjoys the same reputation and prestige that the warrior does today."

--John F. Kennedy

Peace comes from being able to contribute the best that we have, and all that we are, toward creating a world that supports everyone. But it is also securing the space for others to contribute the best that they have and all that they are.

— Hafsat Abiola

A truly free society must not include a “peace” which oppresses us. We must learn on our own terms what peace and freedom mean together. There can be no peace if there is social injustice and suppression of human rights, because external and internal peace are inseparable. Peace.is not just the absence of mass destruction, but a positive internal and external condition in which people are free so that they can grow to their full potential.

— Petra Karin Kelly (1947-1992)

Establishing lasting peace is the work of education; all politics can do is keep us out of war.

— Maria Montessori (1870-1952)

The more we sweat in peace the less we bleed in war.

— Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit (1900-1990)

It isn’t enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it. And it isn’t enough to believe in it. One must work at it.

— Eleanor Roosevelt (1884-1962)

If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.

— Mother Theresa (1910-1997)

With heartfelt and genuine thanks for your kind visit. Have a beautiful day, be well, keep your eyes open, appreciate the beauty surrounding you, enjoy creating, stay safe, and laugh often! ❤️❤️❤️

Ghanta Naad or the Peal of the bell is the auspicous sound made by the ringing of the bell by Devotees on entering and leaving the presence of their Deity. It is said that the peal awakens the soul and senses of the devotee as it sounds like "Om" the universal name of the lord.

"The pandit spoke first. "Mr. Patel, Piscine's piety is admirable. In these troubled times it's good to see a boy so keen on God. We all agree on that." The imam and the priest nodded. "But he can't be a Hindu, a Christian and a Muslim. It's impossible. He must choose."

"I don't think it's a crime, but I suppose you're right," Father replied.

The three murmured in agreement and looked heavenward, as did Father, whence they felt the decision must come. Mother looked at me.

A silence fell heavily on my shoulders.

"Hmmm, Piscine?" Mother nudged me. "How do you feel about the question?"

"Bapu Gandhi said, 'All religions are true.' I just want to love God," I blurted out, and looked down, red in the face..."

This is the Sheesh Gumbad shot from the Bara Gumbad in the Lodi Gardens in Delhi.

In this huge park stands a mosque and several tombs of the Pashtun dynasty which ruled Northern India during the 16th century.

The graffiti maker didn't write well, I can't tell if he carved on a pillar of this complex "Bapu" (Hindi word for "father") or "Babu" (maybe his own name) however I am sure that he spoiled this world heritage monument...

Varanasi, also known as Kashi or Banaras, is a city to die for...literally! According to the Hindu mythology & beliefs, a preson attains Moksh, or Nirvana, if he or she dies in this holy city. Apart from the tall tales, the historic & holy city is a traveler & a photographer's delight, with the Ganga Aarti performed in the dusk at Dasaswamedh Ghat, near the famous Kashi Vishvanath temple, on the banks of the mighty river Ganga, surely the highlight of the city. Thousands of pilgrims & travelers flock the ghat in the evening to witness this spectacular Aarti performed by seven young Pandits.

The Aarti which I witnessed was performed in a steady drizzle, which neither fazed the Pandits, nor the pilgrims, who kept on chanting Har Har Gange along. The Aarti which commenced with the blowing of a Shankh (a conch shell) and continued with the waving of Agarbattis (incense sticks) in elaborate patterns and circling of large flaming lamps that created bright star spikes as rain pattered on my lens. The heady scent of sandalwood & burning Camphor smoke thickly permeated the air to a mesmerizing frame. A magical evening on the Ghats of the holy Ganga.

The natural spring and temple building inside an old Hindu temple. The temple is dedicated to the sun god and contains a beautiful Shiv Lingam. It was an important location for Kashmiri Pandits who came here on pilgrimages.
