The picturesque Palmer Chapel in Cataloochee Valley in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This was one of the few areas that had some nice color in the valley while we were there. I still have a lot of images to go through and have been taking more many more these past couple weeks. More than I can keep up with to post but it tends to be that way during the fall season. I hope that everyone else is having an excellent fall season!

"According to Arnold Palmer, he was in the habit of drinking iced tea with lemonade at home, and in 1960 at the U.S. Open at the Cherry Hills Country Club in Denver, he ordered the non-alcoholic drink at the bar. A woman sitting nearby overheard him, and ordered "that Palmer drink", thus giving the beverage its name. In 2012 an ESPN 30 for 30 Shorts documentary was produced on the drink, featuring Palmer, beverage experts, a group of PGA golfers and comedian Will Arnett discussing the drink's history and popularity. In the film, Palmer attributes the spreading of the drink's name to a similar incident in which a woman copied his ordering the drink at lunch while working on a golf course in Palm Springs, California. Palmer preferred three parts unsweetened tea, to one part lemonade, but when mixed equal parts tea and lemonade, the drink is sometimes called a Half & Half.

According to a waitress at Augusta National Golf Club, Palmer ordered his namesake beverage by saying, "I'll have a Mr. Palmer." When Palmer visited the Latrobe Country Club in his hometown, the staff at the snack shack served the beverage to him or his wife, Kit, without prompting. "Mr. Palmer should never have to order the drink named after him."

"Aren't you a little small for a superhero?"

Dr Ray Palmer. The dude that harnessed White Dwarf energy and stuck it into a belt buckle! Of all the DC heroes, The Atom really just kicks ass.

This fig is by no means my own design. I feel like just about everyone to build a Ray has tried this combo at one point. It's just works so well together (For being purist that is) But yeah, nothing to fancy about him or the build. Just wanted to build him because I could, really. Nothing wrong with another JLA Member, right? :P

Also, what do you guys think of the shrink effects? I think they look sweet and would love to see them in action!

And it looks like that's all the time I've got for right now, The Flash on CW starts in a few and I don't want to miss it :P

SD70ACe's doing what they were built for - hauling coal! Running in a 2x2 distributed power configuration, BNSF No. 8583 leads its train south on the Colorado Joint Line at about walking pace over the Palmer divide at Palmer Lake, CO. This train would hold up road traffic at the level crossing for some time!

Went hiking yesterday evening at Palmer Park in Colorado Springs, in the hopes of a beautiful sunset. I wasn't disappointed. This is an HDR shot taken with a Canon 70D and Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X116 Pro DX lens. I got a new Manfrotto tripod which makes it much easier to take vertical shots :)

This type of chipmunk is found only in the Spring Mountains in southern Nevada. I could hear it chirping, but I was looking all over the place and couldn't seem to find it. Eventually I realized that it had climbed up into a tree and was looking straight down at me.

I haven't taken too many sunset shots before, but I'm determined to take a lot of them this year. I'm finding sunsets to be difficult targets. There's so much dynamic range, and it's impossible to really tell how colorful the sunset will be until it happens. Hopefully I'll get better at reading the clouds the more I photograph sunsets.

So, now I have eight more gigs of Amanda Palmer. Hmm...
