This is a part of a painting representing a bouquet of tulips whose author is unknown to me. It was a gift from the office colleagues for a sick person.

Chickpea decided on a self portrait for the "Painting or Drawing" theme this week, clever little Chickpea, the likeness is uncanny :)))
Not done much painting but this is my attempt at a pigeon portrait. I should like to eventually try and paint each of my pets if I ever get time to practice.

Happy LCoF Stay Safe.
My son always liked to draw when he was younger. He has this notebook with a lot of drawings; I picked the smaller for this photo. This is a carbon pencil drawing on a notebook, he wrote under the drawing "Majin Boo" and 2002, maybe this is a character of one of the games he was playing. He doesn't know I took this photo, so it's a secret between you and me. 😉
Thanks for your visit and taking the time to comment so I can visit your photos, too... very much appreciated! Have a great day and stay safe!😷
Watercolour by John Fitzstephen Lynch (1874-1939), David's Grandfather. He was fairly prolific so even though David was the youngest of 7 children, we have quite a few inherited paintings and drawings on our walls. This is one of my favourites.

A detail of a painting made by my husband of a avocet chick. He found this chick not alive. It is one of the many paintings he used to make. Nowadays he is photographing creative. If you are interested you can check his flickr account Rob Blanken
a Norman Rockwell painting in this 4 inch plate. 3 inch total frame in width. August of 1918 Picnic on a Rocky Coast.
Another tiny portion of a wonderful painting I was gifted, by an amazing artist and friend.
I used three extension tubes to get really close, and am so happy I did, and thus got to examine this work of art in extreme detail :-)

An amplified extract from a small witch print that i fell in love with but that has been hiding behind my sofa since I bought it. A good time to get her out so she can spread some magic...
(Her broomstick is approximately 3 inches long.)
A painted stone, found near a path at river Schwentine. Fits perfectly for today's theme in Looking Close on Fridays.
As a child I dreamt that one day I would have my own horse, but however hard I wished - and I wished very hard - it never became a reality. In my imagination my horse looked a lot like this one, so naturally I had to buy this brooch. It comes from Russia and was painted, by hand, on mother of pearl. Of course, we all know that horses are herd animals, so I'm sure it won't surprise you to learn that seven others came to join this one. :)

This is one of my watercolor paintings. It shows a Swallowtail butterfly which I painted about 20 years ago based on a photo I took. I had to invest a lot of time to recreate the different color nuances of every leaves and showcase the beauty of this wonderful butterfly. Twenty years already! Time sure flies! Watercolour is still one of my passion but during the last few years I preferred to use my creativity on photography. I may come back to painting one day. Who knows… But the good thing is that I now have plenty of pictures that I can turn into beautiful watercolor paintings.
Thank you everyone for your visits, faves, and kind comments

This is a close-up portion of a painting we purchased while visiting Mission San Juan Capistrano shortly after moving to San Diego 22 years ago. Or intent was only to drive up the coast and visit the Mission with our then 4-year old son. However, we happened to arrive during a weekend art show with many painters selling their art. We loved this painting for its portrayal of Spanish architecture and the artist’s use of light and shadow. We thought the painting was a good souvenir to celebrate our move to San Diego. It still hangs in our home today.
The painting is an oil on canvas of the corner of an arched court yard of Mission San Juan Capistrano. The painter: F. M. Tauriello.
That's me and that's him. But you may not recognise us from these fabulous portraits by a talented artist.

Some of the most spectacular examples of rock art in the Southwest are attributed to Archaic people. Archaic people were nomads, hunting large and small game animals, collecting and processing wild plants. They did not build permanent habitation structures, but lived in caves and in small brush shelters built in the open. They occupied the area in and around Sego Canyon from approximately 8,000 years ago until the introduction of corn agriculture about 2,000 years ago.
This red painted rock art, the Barrier Canyon Style, consists of anthropomorphic (manlike) forms. The identifying characteristic of these figures is hollowed eyes or missing eyes, the frequent absence of arms and legs, and the anthropomorphs with bug-eyes, antennae, earrings, snakes in hand, and leg-less torsos. The "ghost-like" red painted images, represent shamanistic art associated with ritual activities of the Archaic people. Courtesy ScienceViews

After working with spray painting of ships, the spray gun is emptied in the same place on a wall. Gradually, an abstract painting or abstract figure grows out on the wall.
